Don’t know why they’d loan them to rivals. We’re both clubs battling for promotion. More likely they go back to Belgium or another top 5 league.

Burnley will have to shed some players unless they have been super sensible on the contracts they awarded and included very sizeable salary reductions …..

and prior to a few months ago they were dreadful. The last 10 games of the season we were allegedly tired, fatigued, down after the cup exit, missing key players
They thrashed Leeds 4-0, beat Leicester away 2-1 and their new manager turned things over the course of the last 8 months for them. They will be a much improved side next season.

We better not just raid league 1 again for all our signings on the cheap. How will we ever sustain a promotion push.

Callum Doyle returning to Man City. Only featured 17 times for Leicester. Would imagine £5-6 Mil with sell ons etc might get him or another Loan.

Kind of a ridiculous statement. They just beat us and looked a pretty good side.

Besides, after the 21/22 season I would've said Szmodics is a pretty drab signing for Blackburn (6 goals in 36 games) - players can improve shock.
They didn’t look pretty good to me. Collins chucking the ball into his own goal as per

By getting enough of the signings right, regardless of which league they come from. We likely can't afford to focus on signings at our own level or above as we don't have an owner willing to run us at a huge loss season after season. Promotion is possible, just look at Luton.

On the cheap??

I think we overpaid for every L1 signing. Spend almost £10m on three players.
Probably half the price of rated championship equivalent players who made champ playoffs. But most likely twice as shit. Only time will tell Doug is buying players to sell on at profit or is really interested in getting promoted. The fans will see through it soon enough and work out what he is really all about. At the end of the day, if you don’t mate playoffs again this season I can see the support dwindling.

Doyle could be a future England International CB. Millions would be a good investment, his value is bound to rise.

He could be but considering he couldn’t get into a Championship side regularly in his normal position last season I’m gonna say it’s quite unlikely.

To be fair, Leicester needed a left-back and he could play there. Doyle was only involved in 3 of the 11 matches they lost this season, and one of them he played 13 minutes off the bench.

from game 2 onwards maybe, which leaves us with a left sided centre back deficency immediately the season opens now that Binks has gone back to Bologna

McNally for us was better than Thomas has been for us. Thomas makes so many errors, McNally was more stable for us

I like McNally - but point with Thomas, in the big big games he's generally been outstanding. It's his consistency which is the issue, but also what you expect with younger, rougher diamond players - expect that to improve next season. His ceiling is very high.

Also different system and personal so tough to judge, we are far more open this season for example, how would have Mcnally coped?

Would take Doyle back on loan In heartbeat, however he's destined for bigger things.

McNally is a sensible defender and did well for us (playoff final excluding where the occasion seemed to affect him).

Thomas has far better quality on the ball and his ability to play through the lines is what Robins wants from centre backs. That does mean he makes mistakes and sometimes plays us into trouble. I think he’s really good and will get better.
