There were fans there that did that, obviously not all of them. Those responsible should be banned.
Also, no-one is creating a fake rivalry, some of your fans just don't like the fact that your club is associated with Mr hills antics all those years ago.

And because a section of our fans mention this fact, some of your own fans get very defensive and try to create a rivalry based on this. That's what's happening there, I'm surprised you can't see this
A fake rivalry caused by us? The game you mentioned was delayed by the police because of thousands of supporters were still outside the ground at kick-off time. But over recent years a story has evolved in Sunderland about how it was now Hill. Yes both sides stopped attacking once they knew both were safe but who wouldn't.

I have never seen any set of supporters that have something against just about every side they play. We don't see much rivalry from this side. Just talk about idiotic posters and looking forward to the 3 points.

The irony of this man. I see internet rivalry is alive and well. Not saying Sunderland is heaven, but it has some beautiful parts, which attracts a lot of tourism. Do many people flock to your end for a holiday mate?
He must walk around Coventry with a blindfold on. Sunderland has a fantastic coastline, and we're improving things in the city centre right now

Bizzare thing to say

We've got a good home form. 🤔
Only problem is our record against you lot 😐

yeah I was being over confident. You’ll probably do us over 😂

I do think nullifying one or two of your players makes it winnable for us but it just depends which cov turn up.

People are desperate to say everywhere is a shit hole.

Even London, Manchester, Edinburgh etc are called shit holes by British people.

Many of these people haven't seen the state of countries/cities around the world.

I think the City Centre is a lot better in Coventry but totally agree that the coastlines are lovely.

Depends where you are comparing them too.

If you wanted to pick out Mogadishu or Port Morseby for example, you would be correct. By a developed country standards however, most of the cities in the UK are pretty bad.

The Sunderland "rivalry" that a minority of both fanbases try and push is very pathetic and embarrassing.

1-1 tomorrow.

American cities make ours look like paradise. Some of the capitals in Europe are a lot worse than London.

One issue the UK has is the general grey, cloudy skies. Visiting places in Greece and Spain when it's sunny is lovely but if you've ever been to a resort in winter, they are bleak, empty and many of the buildings are stood half built.

I was shocked in Turkey. Most of the coastlines are full of half built hotels which have been abandoned.

Looking forward to the Sunderland trip tomorrow . Fewer of us going but let's create a noise and hope the atmosphere is as good as Leeds last week. Few tinnies on the train followed by few lunchtime. PUSB

Really tough game this. They might have the ‘new manager bounce’ but a lot of their fans not happy with the appointment. If we score first their fans could turn.
They have a decent side so I’m expecting a narrow defeat but would take a point

I was really worried about playing these under Mowbray , hoping they're a bit more direct under beale which might suit us more

Which city has the most tourists Coventry or Sunderland, reckon I know the answer.
A lot of Mags go to Scumberland annually to take the piss , but I think we are well ahead . Shakespeare, lady Godiva, sir frank Whittle to name but a few . And don’t forget our music . What has Scumberland given this country? Asking for a friend 🫵🏼😂😂😂

Which capitals in Europe are a lot worse than London? It's one of the roughest and dirtiest cities on the continent.

Those places in warmer climates are also seasonal destinations. If you were silly enough to go there in the close season then you are more or less qualifying that you don't know what you're talking about here.

this is all rather silly but Shakespeare is nothing to do with Coventry. Lady Godiva is born from Urban Myth - as this is a football forum Sunderland gave us Brian Clough

Paris is far worse. Brussels is rubbish. Thought Tirana was a depressing place despite recent popularity. A lot of the French and Italian cities are places you wouldn't step foot out of the tourist areas.

In regards to the second, that's sort of my point. It's easy to say how nice Ibiza is but I went in Feb for a half marathon and the place looked worse than a standard British town.
Places like Coventry look great and vibrant in the sunshine, but very miserable and depressing in January.

Parts of them might, but I'd take out cities all day long over the level of inequality and homelessness you get there. San Francisco is one of my favourite places, but the poverty that you stumble across away from the Tourist Traps is terrifying.

I went to SF about 6 years ago and absolutely loved it. Went back this Spring and couldn't believe what I saw.

Same with LA. Hollywood is depressing. The poverty is something on a level we don't see in the UK.

Finding this hard to call, slightly less difficult than the last 2 but a different challenge. Not sure Beale has been there long enough to get a bounce but I think he's already said he's not going to try and change too much. We're definitely capable of winning, just can't try and be too expansive in the 433 or it'll end up being another 5-4 job. Wouldn't be totally surprised to see Dasilva on the left again so we can double up on Roberts/Clarke

Can see another draw but I'll be positive and go 2-1 City.

Collins
MvE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Saka Eccles Sheaf Dasilva
O'Hare
Simms

Wilson, Fadz, Lati, Binks, Allen, Ayari, Palmer, Wright, Godden
