But I think the club need to put a message out that from next season any tributes/applauses during the 90 mins of football will not be encouraged and should be limited to a moment of reflection before kick off and/or the annual remembrance fixture
I'd be in favour of this, it's out of control. pretty much every game there's applause for someone now and the vast majority of the time you have no clue who the person was. People start clapping and everyone near me starts looking at each other like are they clapping something that has just happened that we missed or are we supposed to be clapping something.

If it's a significant enough event do it before kick off, if not just get on with the game.

You’ve also got the issue now where whoever (I can’t remember who it was) knocked the ball out of play for an applause the other week and the precedent has now been set and it is expected that everyone does it

Fuck Wednesday racist twats , there's no rule that says you must kick the ball out and that gollum lookalike only told us to do it after they lost the ball
They blame everyone but themselves, always have done, always will , twats
Desperate to deflect from the fact that their fans have been caught being racist, mocking dead kids, mocking dead fans of other clubs... and that's just within the last year!! Absolute gutter rats, best ignored.

Totally agree with this, it is out of control and it may seem harsh but I don't want to clap for someone I didn't know from Adam, yes I'm sure family and friends are grieving and most of us have lost people we loved and felt it deeply but I think that unless it is a well known public figure there shouldn't be an expectation from others to express sympathy in a public manner.

We have a monthly (?) memorial now surely that's enough. Obviously if something like Regis or Sillett dies you're going to mark that or some horrific local tragedy like Keaton Slater but that will always be pre match.

Don't really need my 80 year old dad died so we're all clapping on the 76th minutes as the only game he ever went to was in 1976, obviously an exaggeration but we're not a million miles away from that.

If I wanted to upgrade to one of the hospitality packages as a one off could I not get discount as I've already bought a season ticket and therefore a ticket to the match
I don't expect the full price of a ticket knocked off but something would be nice

@Sky Blue Pete I think this needs touching upon tbh and I understand it’s a delicate matter and what I’m about to say might not be agreed with

We’re still having mud thrown at our name for scoring during the mins applause for the lad at Sheffield Weds the other week and it’s quite frankly ridiculous that footballers are being ridiculed for doing their job in a professional environment

Keep it outside the match and that way nobody gets hurt/upset

I've just watched that minute of the game again on iFollow and in no way does Bannan tell us to kick the ball out.

He's just gesturing to his team mates where the ball is going to go. And for the following 13 seconds until we score, he runs back to defend and doesn't point anywhere. Anyway, I don't know why I'm getting riled up by this bullshit!

I've always been in the can't be bothered with the hassle and finding a reliable stream but the cost of sky now is insane.

There's fuck all on the movie channels now as the studios have their own services and you have to spend £50+ a month just for sport, the vast majority of which I don't watch. I pretty much only have time to watch our games, plus the occasional but of tennis or cricket so its really not worth the money. Can't remember the last time I watched a live PL game.

I'm locked in to a contact but as soon as that's up I think I'm going to go down the cord cutting route.

How much are you paying for it? Bloke at works pays about £140 for his TV and broadband, which is ludicrous.

Yep.Stick to the scoreboard at half time to remember those who may have sadly died.

I had no idea why there was applause at Sheffield Wednesday before the goal.

It’s ridiculous that there’s a genuine expectation on their end that we’d kick the ball out, stop the game and applause a random person who died. This was a nice trend to begin but has got a bit much now. If it’s that much of a tragedy, a minute applause/silence before the game or at HT will do just fine.

If it’s not significant enough to do that, it isn’t significant enough to stop the game for me.

Sheff Weds trying to stop the game for a Sheff Utd fan every game? It's weird.

It seems people are able to watch Saturday 3pm games through IPTV at a lot of Coventry pubs. I take it this is something the club aren’t interested in stopping? Or are they not aware it’s happening?

They don’t do it

Well the system needs an upgrade then ( I suspect it’s all down to technical limitations)
The whole hospitality system is so manual- you can buy hospitality tickets online but not choose your own seat which is mad given it’s the most expensive part of the ground.
I think a lot of season ticket holders would love to do a one off upgrade for special occasions etc where you might get the discount only once in the season but be able to do it all online.

I’ve really enjoyed the Balcony Bar to the point of we’re talking about getting season tickets there next year, have talked about upgrading a couple of games before the end of the season but always put off by the fact our tickets go to waste. Just give me £10 off and resell my tickets and I’d be happier and the club £20 richer for games like Stoke that look like a sell out.

Yeah-went into the balcony bar for the Ipswich game which was £60-a reasonably sensible approach bearing in mind that it was £15 a ticket in the stand. I notice that they are doing it for £80 for the upcoming games and we were talking about doing it for the Middlesbrough game. But like you say-that would be our normal season ticket seats going to waste 🫤

I’ve asked John Taylor

what had been clarified by the club is that other adults can use your ticket if you are sitting elsewhere.

Hi John

I understand if I want to purchase a hospitality ticket in the balcony you don’t refund me for my season ticket or try and resell it.

Is this a technical issue or choice of the club?

And irrespective of this are you looking to change anything?

Thanks

Pete

Feels like if they’ve got the functionality for the FZ to resell tickets they should be able to implement it elsewhere but accept it’s not always that simple. Picking seats in corporate is IMO as big an issue. One draw is the accessibility and being able to pick a seat near an aisle or not too far down the steps would be great.

Pete,

Funny you should ask that as that is something we are looking at. This was something historically put in place, not sure when but something we are certainly looking at as we don’t want to create any barriers for supporters to experience new opportunities.

This will be resolved and a process put in place.

Thanks
John

so probably a bit of watch this space

ST discount for hospitality was a thing until a couple of season's ago. We used to do hospitality for my birthday and I'd get £12 off (or thereabouts) as a STH. One of the things that Doug knocked on the head when he raised the prices and got rid of concessions for the lounges.

Another thing he may hopefully back track on-fair play if he does as he has with other issues in the past.

I’d like to see an initiative where STHs can ‘exchange’ their ST seat for a discounted hospitality rate for a one off game. Say, a £10-15 discount the club gets to resell the ticket for £25+.

I did hospitality v Ipswich and considered doing one of the home games but because I’ve got my ST, it feels like a waste of money to me personally.

@Sky Blue Pete a question for the forum?
