I don't think people should go. Actions speak louder than words and his have shown us what he's about. Don't talk to him he's not one of us, he'll divide us more when people fall for his polished crap 'answers'. Don't give the egomaniac his thrill. Voice your frustrations in the stands and through your wallets. It's bait to make us look reactionary and him calm and all knowing . Leaving it a week in the hope we'll relax shows what a coward that oddball is.

Genuine question for Doug:

"Are you at all concerned about the club's future ability to bring in personel of a certain quality, players or staff, now that you've outed yourself to the football world as another basket case owner?"

I read this forum enough to know you clearly have someone either behind the scenes or close enough that hear things which you then relay on here. Some info correct, some by your own admission way of the mark.

There’s clear agendas by some of the more vocal ITKs on twitter against King because of some of the right or perceived wrong decisions he’s made since coming in.

You’ve made all valid points, I agree to a certain degree of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” but surely you could see that changes needed to be made to not be left behind and try set us up to be a more professional outfit.

Ultimately if performances drop off on the pitch that’s for MR/players to rectify, nothing I’ve seen so far indicates that things were getting any better, you could say the way were started off last season was a carbon copy of this way before the new performance director came in.

I’m not king biggest fan. off the pitch he’s made great strides with the training ground. much needed upgrades and making enquires about taking over the connection

however for what matters most is what happens on the pitch. decisions made by him have had a negative impact. Of course he hasnt made these decisions deliberately to make us a worse side but they have

for me the big factors include trying to bring in a model that prem teams use. we are not a prem team. any business that brings in changes needs to implement them in phases. a lot changed in a short space of time

no one can say we haven’t invested in the side but the transfer model hasn’t worked.

currently only 1 or 2 players could make the step up to the prem. that’s a massive concern considering the money we have spent

Credit where it’s due you’re making sensible points.

Is it Kings fault that the players can go from a performance like they put out against Tottenham to the one against Derby?

The rumours of numerous players putting in grievances against AV and the so called higher calibre players (Who we are now wanting to attract) calling him out on it, guess that’s Kings fault aswell.

was it robins fault that rudoni done a daft back pass or the linesman couldn’t see a straight line?

I have been a big critic this year of robins and the team however this was not the right time to sack him

king has enforced changes which we want clarity on. what is the model going forward. who is in charge of the football side of things.

if I asked you right now, who is in charge of the footballing decision, who would you say is?

I’m chatting to Pete about being the other member of the forum there and I’m thinking very hard about the question I want to ask if I do get the chance (I guess it’s unlikely) and right now it would be something like this.

Doug when you took over the club there were some fundamental issues that you acknowledged such as the deal we had on the ground, training ground upgrades and the commercial running of the club and you implemented solid changes to bring these things to standard.

However… we were one kick away from the premier league, a toe nail away from an Fa cup semi final, we’d been at Wembley 4 times in 7 years, and apart from Leeds no club has won more games in 2024 than us.

Despite that you looked at a winning formula and decided a complete overhaul of the staff and ethos was required, my question is why?

Why did you decide to take a solid management team and dismantle it, Dennis Lawrence leaving before and FA cup semi final, Viveash gone with very little context and now the man who took this club from the brink of extinction to what you see today dismissed.

I understand changes had to be made and you’ve made a number of good decisions but on the pitch we were going very well and our poor form now coincides with the decisions you’ve made to overhaul the playing side of the operation can you please justify why you’ve done this?

Would genuinely love peoples opinion but for me this is the fundamental question that needs answering.

pretty much nailed it

I would also ask will the new head coach have much Input and involvement in recruitment for January to improve the squad and if funds are available. Will a director of football be involved too?

Maybe we need someone slightly less emotional than Pete not just another Pete.

Boy what have I missed
Is it still about 90%+ that think this is a rubbish decision and want to say so or does Grendel have extra votes as if he’s some democrat voting machine from the 2020 election??

I do fear even with invited guests and media that the questions will be censored (there’s an easy way around that of course) but also that some groups have members that don’t recognise how to ask questions to elicit information.

Anyway we’ll see if it happens

Much like other organisations that have been around for over a century owners and managers come and go and only very few are remembered

Jimmy Hill and Mark Robins will be remembered long after Doug King has gone

As GIMOC said many of the business decisions have worked although individuals have been treated appallingly but when it comes to the football you need football people making those decisions not business men

I'd like to know more about his plans to move the club forward, future investment, what he expects of new manager etc.. rather than over emotional nonsense. Positivity rather than self pity is what the club needs, unless you'd rather bitch, moan and boo our way to league 1, which isn't 100% out of the question with the position Robins had us in.

This is my question too, also Doughnut Doug better have a solid plan going forward as this next appointment is crucial and needs to be spot on for his sake and the club. Still fucked off now

When do the excuses start drying thin? Was it Robins fault Simms missed that header from 5 yards out against Preston, was it Robins fault Bassette missed that sitter in the same game, was it Robins fault Simms didn’t see the through ball to bassette against QPR?

When was the right time? We’ve had two international breaks now, both times the players have come back and we’ve seen little to no improvement? This idea that MR was totally avoid from any blame here is insanity. I don’t claim to be a football expert but MR has ran out of ideas, we’ve pretty much tried every formation/change the team round game by game, once that starts happening and it’s still not working you have to start asking questions.

The final question you ask, at a guess id say your referring to who has the final say on transfers and the loa? Unless you’re alluding to MR being influenced on who to play on the pitch.

This idea that Matty James would have came in and we’d suddenly set the league a fire is total nonsense, we didn’t lose against Derby because we’re light in midfield.

Remember for every Gus/Vik that Robins/AV oversaw there’s a Hilsner, Jobello, Kastsneer, Junior Brown, Ogogo etc.

Eh? Moan about singing? Why would I moan about singing at a football game? It's completely natural, like sacking an unperforming manager.

It drips out of your posts. Anyone who talks about not being emotional about football doesn't get it. Proper premiership era nonsense
It really doesn't drip out of my posts. There's certainly a bunch of drippy posts on here I'll give you that.

I maintain that while the manager is at fault for some really dubious decisions this season, the players are more so. Messing up at both ends of the pitch, not tracking back, not pressing, not knowing what to do and arguing on the pitch with the few professionals out there.

Some players there are taking this club for a ride because they’ve got themselves long contracts and think they’ve already made it. When there’s nothing riding on a game they decide to switch it on, when their manager’s job is at risk they turn in their worst game of the season. Pathetic.
