The same applies though. You still need a willing buyer to pay them the same 'wedge', or else they understandably won't move, and we were in a position where no one would.

I wasn’t the one that brought those two up. I’m more concerned with the likes of Waghorn Walker and Kane who are all on a wedge and can do a job lower down this division or in L1. And of course Hyam who was worth a lot more than £1.5m
Nobody wanted them?

You can't get lower down in this division! 🤣

The fact that those 3 can't get a start for a team that's rock bottom of the championship says it all. And I'm sure their wages are too high for league 1.

As for Hyam, it looks like we were desperate for some money, and time was running out. so we sold him for what we could get, not what we wanted, and not what he was worth.
But beggars can't be choosers.

Beggars with billionaire parents. Which is the point

We don't have billionaire parents

How much hundreds of millions at least. Certainly enough to cover a short term bridging loan to a club she loves.

What’s with the return of the Sisu Defence Force anyway?

There isn't one. It's just pointing out common sense.

What “common sense”?
Seppala isn’t short of a bob or two, to do what we want to do on the budget we want to do it on involves a risk. But clearly she’s decided no more cash, that’s her right, it’s mine to say that’s not good enough and you should leave the club at the level you found it. Similarly Boddy is a lower league chairman out of his depth IMO who has repeatedly failed to look out for our interests in negotiations. Blame Wasps all you like, and they certainly have blame, but to go willingly into a contract at a ground with a rugby team without guarantees on the pitch seems foolhardy. Same with the reports of inept negotiations costing us £1m off the Hyam price tag.

"reports"

The common sense was that you can't sign players who aren't good enough for the championship, give them a championship wage and then wonder why we can't offload them to teams in lower leagues.

1 goal conceded in 6 and a half games.

Solid unit since we cashed in on Hyam.

We win a game and are off the bottom of the table and we are gloating about a player who was part of a side top of the league before tonight’s games
Dom Hyam is and was a massive part of our success in recent seasons and we are now suddenly better off without him while we are sitting 23rd in the league

Did we ever manage 5 clean sheets in 6 games with Hyam in the side?

Yes he's doing well for himself at Blackburn, and good luck to the lad, I hope he has a great career there, but you can't say we are poorer defensively without him. We desperately need to bring in cover at centre half as we are down to the bones though.

Win our games in hand, and we are 2 points behind them, and that's having such a terrible start to the season.

Good player who did a lot for us. Wish him well and glad we are doing alright without him too. No one should be gloating he's gone tho. Prob same sorta ppl that will abuse robins when he eventually leaves

I don't think anyone's gloating, we are just pointing out to the bed wetters that it's not the end of the world.
Can you imagine how they would react if MR was to leave.

We don’t know some of that opinion as fact. Happy about the comments about sisu as fact not sure there wasn’t an agreement about the pitch and the club have given their ‘facts’ about the Hyam sale and we should hold them to account for what they said to show either it was true or to show up their lie more and more.
It’s a huge issue that there are not enough staff to deliver what is required. I have a lot of time for tynan and mark and in many ways Dave but time and again there are things not done as well as they should be because of lack of time and possibly capability

The final days of the transfer window are when fees normally get inflated for sides scrambling around to get players, but we managed to do the opposite because Seppalla refused to sub the club money we were always going to get.

We must be the first club to turn the transfer deadline into a much lower fee than expected

The club have clearly said that wasn’t the case

Ok. You have the evidence? I’d love to see it and challenge them on it

Boddy when the deal signed was very bullish about a new pitch being promised then admitted it was not a contractual agreement at all

He also made a claim that Hyam was not sold for cash flow issues

The club have clearly said we are building a stadium at Warwick Uni
I’m happy that answer to a supporters forum are not in a court of law. I think we do a reasonable job of showing up their nonsense if they are talking it.
Im also not saying bsb is wrong I’m just saying give me the evidence

And he was shown to have said the first and found out. Loses credibility

The second not yet unless you can show me

By some distance - we’ve had our best defensive record since our “best defender” left the club

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence, which is all we can use as the owner hardly ever comments

Robins having no input into the sale of a first team regular late in the window-if it was done for footballing reasons surely he would have given his approval and justified it? His tone and comments around the Hull game suggest he had no ability to stop the sale and didn’t want it to happen.

Agreement that Blackburn were interested earlier in the window, got rebuffed or quoted more than they were willing to pay. Why did we change our minds with a week left of the window?

Loud noises from within that a sale was needed to solve cash flow issues exacerbated by the August postponements. The amounts in question were certain to have arrived later and within a period of months, so why did the owner provide no offer of finance to tide the club over? Either she is out of investment or simply refuses to provide it.

The fee itself is derisory as most would acknowledge and we presumably accepted a lower overall bid if we could get more or all of it upfront.

Which all points to it being a desperate effort to fix short term cash flow that the owner could have provided, but refused
