Exactly this.I generally like Robins but we are a L2 team and by default, have a manager with flaws, players who are either wanting to get into the game at a higher level or cheap salary ones, the manager is only a few games away from the pressure of the sack.
Personally, Robins has always liked to play through the middles and be cautious, grinding teams down and playing on the break, did it well with Goldy in his first stint. Was hoping McNulty would do the same.
He doesn’t do the second or third options well when the first style changes, the teams comfortable at the top have pace and width and that exposes teams at this level. I don’t know the budget or what he was allowed to do but it’s not the perfect balance for options in games. I know he has had injuries and you could argue jones was the one wide man but we needed 2 or 3 to cover those injuries.
Overall though, I would stick with him for now and into next season. If we win our two games in hand we are in the play off’s, this club hasn’t achieved top 6 for 48 years, it’s not easy for any manager to break this.
And spare a thought for the players, how can they interpret his “squeaking”, must be very difficult for them.
John Coleman from
Accrington
Loved the Tic Toc. Saw loads of good bands there in my youth.
Same here. Great venue.Loved the Tic Toc. Saw loads of good bands there in my youth.
Saw the Stranglers there just before Cornwell left....and I was old even then.Loved the Tic Toc. Saw loads of good bands there in my youth.
So we sack Robins after one season and appoint John Coleman. You do know it’s taken Coleman 3 seasons to build a promotion chasing team at Accrington don’t you? Given you want Robins out after a season what’s the chances of you allowing Coleman three seasons to build a promotion chasing team? Slim to zero would be my guess. I’d even go as far as putting you down as being one of the first ones calling for him to go. Most likely in his first season.
......your clock is ticking Robins.
Probably thought he was watching waspsAnd Eakin said we are down to 14 players lol!
Some managers are a good fit at certain clubs but not at others. I think this is the case with Robins here. It is certainly the case with Coleman at Accrington. In his second spell there. When he left the first time to take over at Rochdale he was sacked after only a year. Now into his fourth year at Accrington and has been given that time to build the club.John Coleman from

The best is probably Howe at Bournemouth, phenomenal record but very average at Burnley in between
We need fight and courage and we got that from the players. Win our next two games and we will be right back in contention for the playoffs. JCH if we had him all season we would be in the autos

yep. Robins win record with ccfc stacks up against Howe. Similarly. Huddersfield and Scunthorpe didn't work for him,
Howe has been backed by the owners. Robins hasn’t.Howe has taken Bournemouth from L2 to the top flight, MR not quite on the same level...

You know me well sweety!!!Wow , there's some nobs on here and your surely the biggest
Now he would be God if he could do that in half a seasonHowe has taken Bournemouth from L2 to the top flight, MR not quite on the same level...
Yes he has one of the biggest budgets in this league don't you know.Howe has been backed by the owners. Robins hasn’t.

Now we have been hearing that for many seasons and some still believe it
Try telling that to all the people saying we should sack Robins because we have one of the highest budgets in the league therefore finishing out of the top 3 or top 7 is failure.Budgets are an irrelevance.
As long as he keeps setting us like he did for the first 15 minutes yesterday then the results will start to look after themselves and he can stay as long as he likes. It's taken him too long to get there, which I have been critical of him for but if the lesson has been finally learned then all the other good things he's doing are amplified rather than undermined, as they have been recently. You can create all the infrastructure and environment you like but if the first team tactics are broken you will never survive long. Very excited for Wycombe now if we start off in the same vein.
Pmsl try telling that to the bottom half of the prem league when you look at the top 6.Budgets are an irrelevance.

What a ridiculous statement
His budget is the highest by miles in that league. Sitting pretty having relegated them last season.
Budgets are an irrelevance.
I am 1 of the 1's calling for him to go my problem was his inability to think of change yesterday he did although circumstances helped . Why not carry on and stop playing 2 D M players and be just a bit more proactive and make the opposition worry more about us than us about them.
Is it just me ? Perhaps budgets are relevant only on days of the week when it rains and when the sun's out then sod it we all bugger off to Swanage for the day. Lovely.

So if Robins hasn’t been able to spend our budget are you going to cancel his taxi? You could have the biggest budget but spend less than every other team.
