@Nick

Did ML ever get back to you with permission to post his email to you?

Did he ever say what the few things he wanted to clear up on the phone call were?

Have you spoken to ML since he was provided with a phone number and contact from the KCIC consortium?

Do you know if he has called and spoken to someone now?

All of a sudden everything has gone quiet. Strange considering how noisy it was.

Strange Michael Orton hasn't given a statement - perhaps there never was "another" phone number.

I'm sure if that was true ML would have told Bennetts Afro by now.

Has ML stopped answering Nicks emails? Is that why Nick can't disclose the whole of the email ML sent him?

I'm curious as to the contents of the email he sent Nick. Aren't you?

I'm also curious to know what he wanted to clear up first by calling KCIC? Aren't you?

Not been about as been busy with moving jobs etc so not really had chance to look or do much.

From what I gather he has spoken to the other person but they were a middle man for the middle man so knew nothing about the offer or the situation (which you can't really expect them to)

I think he wants to generally get an idea of the offer and a bit more detail.

I think it's on hold for the weekend (which may help the situation with time away from it).

If people want to chat to ml he will probably speak to them direct anyway!

Cheers for that Nick

Sounds like if all parties are serious they just need to put a date in the diary to get together. The middle men (and let's face it, ML is in that bracket too) need to get their heads together lay the deal out and ML can take it back to JS. Although it would be nice if JS could put the effort in to meet them in the first place. Cut to the chase do to speak.

I can't see why that should be a problem for her, given that not only is her ID out there now, she's been happy to meet small groups of fans of late so why not this group of fans too?

Have KCIC ever met up with Joy/Tim?

I know they've protested a lot but I can't remember any reports of meetings.

Anyone know?

All too familiar a proposal is dashed by the behaviour of individuals, protocols and excuses.........

We never get to the stage can this offer work

The takeover where Mr Dulieu said SISU will accept this. He was asked to keep it secret. Next day day it's in the Sun.
The rent offer from ACL, can't be considered because it was made to the Football League.
This offer one party it must be by telephone the other party it must be face to face.
Who does it suit not really to do a deal and ask yourself why.

Would it have been to much trouble to have invited them in for a cuppa when they were stood outside their Mayfair offices ;)

If the offer was delivered in letter headed paper, on a memory stick, on telephone call. Via teleconference, in person or delivered personally by Micky Gynn. If it helps ACL keep breathing in any way or form there would be an issue with it.

If SISU were genuinely interested in doing the right thing and returning to the Ricoh on the short term in any guise they would be going all out to make it happen, what have they done to achieve this........

Tomorrow is signify the end for sisu anyway. They won't be able to get the Ricoh ever after all that's gone on.

Appeal all you want (if they can) and throw anything at ccc they will never sell to sisu. End of.

Have you had a sneak peek at the judges ruling?

Thing is though stupot. It doesn't matter what the judge rules. He isn't going to give sisu a slice of the Ricoh so ccc will make sure they never do. ML gave the game away didn't he. "This has no effect on bringing Coventry home" that's what he said. He is right. Judge rules ccc and we all carry on and is sisu win then so what. Won't be able to claim damages as the judge says they stopped paying legal rent and they won't get the Ricoh and ccc will make sure of it. They don't have to give them anything regardless and with the history they never will.

Sisu can't win in this. They are better of selling and leaving us to pick up the pieces. Look at the upcoming season. No signings, no hope, no home. Relegation is nigh on certain. It can't get any worse.

I think you're probably right. Unless someone rocks up and pays the rent and match day costs up front and says "there you go, now sell the tickets and get the team there for kickoff" it ain't going to happen.

What's good for the club is in direct conflict with what's good for sisu and their investors. I think it is really as simple as that and the truth is Joy answers to her investors not CCFC fans. The sooner they give up, cut their losses and sell to the highest bidder (currently the KCIC consortium) the better.

I think MO deserves credit for trying to make things happen but unless something is currently happening behind closed doors (which could explain why everyone has gone quiet?) it looks like ML with the assistance of his unpaid minions have done their job well and turned something that should have been positive for the club into something negative.

Sisu will never need the services of a WS as long as the club has "fans" like some of ours.

No, this judge will just judge whether the loan was an unlawful use of state aid and whether ACL have to pay it back and go out to the open market. He will also decide whether there should be another hearing for damages. They were never going to get the Ricoh as part of the damages anyway.

However this doesn't mean that sisu will go, Monday afternoon. Who's going to buy it? KCIC for £51k? Even back at the Ricoh how are KCIC going to fund £5-6m+ per annum losses, plus invest in the team?

It can get worse, we could get liquidated (properly) and expelled out of the league having to start back down in the 8th,9th or 10th tier.

All fair points. There is no way a judge is going to over rule a city council and a national bank of which 15 months on loan repayments have already been made.

Even if as I'm not 100% I grant you that the loan is repaid then ccc will find another way to do it that won't involve sisu so either way sisu can't win so the judges result is irrelevant. ML told us as much 3 weeks ago.

As pointed out there won't be another hearing for damages as the judge says they illegally stopped paying rent so he can't authorize that. So that throws the damages claim out of the way.

You're right they could liquidate but they will always be someone with a few million to chuck in to have a go. So they could liquidate or sell to a highest bidder.

Either way like I say tomorrow is the end. No appeals and no further claims. It's one way or the other.

If the net result of the JR was ACL went to the wall meaning that the lease would revert back to CCC. What would stop CCC and Higgs setting up another management company together and CCC issuing the new Co with a fresh lease for a nominal fee?

It is a long way before anything terminal can happen to ACL because there is significant inertia to overcome (ie reports & recommendations to be made by senior council officers followed by a full council meeting to approve a course of action). CCFC however is fully at the mercy of Joy (& her investors), I'm sure they can move a lot quicker if they feel they have to.

Anyway, we don't know..yet.. but Monday will be interesting whatever the outcome.

That's exactly what I'm saying Tony. The result tomorrow is irrelevant. I think ccc will "win" the case hands down but say they don't and the loan is repaid which is still a small possibility then doesn't matter to ccc as they can find another loan that firmly doesn't include sisu or set up another management company.

Either way sisu lose but more sadly us fans lose.

Again, I repeat the suggestion that half the problems result from two different cultures, one of which moves swiftly on the word of one person... one of who has to get things signed off by the world and Anne Lucas's dog before it can do anything... so in that respect yeah, it wouldn't surprise me is even if it were ever decided that ACL should be wound up, it'd take about four years to actually do it ;)

So that will be a bit quicker then getting our new ground some where in Grendelville. (outside of the Coventry Council jurisdiction)

Very possibly...

But I wouldn't be banking on a swift long term resolution even if the will is there... just because I'm not sure the procedures are in place to *allow* for a swift resolution!

It's all very sad isn't it? It's almost as if we are condemned never to have this stuff resolved. Where oh where are the high net worth individuals and organisations willing to back ccfc supporters and the people of Coventry? What have we done to deserve being so forsaken? It really is appalling. If people with the passion and the vision of Michael Orton were backed by wealthy courageous support all of this could be fixed and we could be playing premiership football at our Ricoh within 5 years. It breaks my heart to think where we are headed without this in sight.
