Hope all's OK Torch.
You need to get yourself up and running for a trip to Wembley mate.
Treatment been making him feel awful I think.

Why would he want to come on here and be more depressed.

Hope they are blasting that cancer to kingdom come!

Chemo over now just in the recovery phase. At least another week or so.

Next month or maybe in March it'll be transplanr time so no Wembley for me. Gutted for my lad, it would have been a great experience for him.

No-one else can take him? Or would he just not go without you?

We'll have a car going from Warwick - only me, daughter and dad would be going, so if you can talk your wife into taking him I'd happily offer a lift. Straight down the M40, park at Hillingdon and get the tube straight to Wembley.

Anyway, a break from Whistlegate.

So, went to see the consultant in Heartlands in Brum on Friday. He told me about the rarity of the leukaemia again and what they planned to do. This Friday will have the Hickman line put in, then next week or maybe the week after will go into Walsgrave for a week or so for some intensive chemotherapy. Hopefully, they've got Wifi!

Then I will be having the bone marrow transplant in Heartlands and will be there for a month or so. The good news is they have two potential matches for the donor. One in the UK and one in Germany.

My white blood cells are unfortunately not playing ball and are on the increase, so was feeling pretty shit last week and this. However, I was determined to go yesterday as it might be my last game of the season. Just glad it is all starting to happen now.

December was a nothing month really with me just being at home taking the drugs. I'd almost forgotten I was ill, so all the recent consultant appointments have reminded me how serious this is! Gulp.

As a side issue all the haematology consultants in Heartlands are Greek so thank God for immigration in the NHS!
Continued best wishes Torch.

Is it because of your immune system being down torch or another aspect?
Listen, If there is any aspect or financial assistance the SBT community can Offer/aid with I'm convinced we'd all willingly come together and do absolutely anything to help.

Wingy, yeah i have no immune system. White cell counts should be around 8/10 and my count is 0.1 and this is day 18 after the chemo ended. I can't go home until that goes up as i could get an infection too easily. I have an appt at Heartlands on Monday, hopefully to tell me about my bone marrow transplant. I'm being taken by ambulance.

Wont be going home for another couple of weeks at least.

Sorry if you don't make it to Wembley mate, assuming that we do. As others have said, there will be no shortage of volunteers to take the lad, or help with getting tickets etc. should it come to it.

You can focus on getting better for the League 2 play-offs next year, plus the 5th round tie against Man Utd (the one where Haynes humiliates them with a Huckerby-esque late winner).*

*I don't care what SISU do - they can never take away our dreams at least. :)

Still stuck in hospital. Into my fifth week now. I was hoping to go home soon but i keep having high temperatures and infections. At the moment my immune system is like that of a premature baby.

Went to heartlands on Monday. There are four potential donors, two look pretty much perfect. They are looking at mid to the end of April for the transplant, so good news. The bad news is once i do eventually get out of here i can spend two weeks at home then I have to come back in and repeat the whole chemo thing again. What a nightmare.

How close is it to what Petrov had? I think he had a transplant / chemo also didn't he?

At least it is looking promising and you are in the best place.

I bet you are bored shitless though!

How do you do that?

I have TiVo box with Virgin. I recorded it last night, but have ever found anyway to download any recordings off there.

I'd be happy to download it for someone if I knew how.

Would need some sort of capture card or hdmi input on a computer to then record it.
