Exactly my point.
Pretty sure he said nobody in January but "Bidwell became available".
The thing with that is that there are plenty of other clubs with similar or lower gates to us, yet who seem to have more ability in the transfer market than we do.You only have to look on social media to see how wide of the mark fans are around finances. They seem to think 15000 crowds, 12000 season tickets and shirts sales should have converted us into a buying club. Their expectation on those figures are unrealistic. For instance a large demographic of our fan base buying an early bird season ticket will be contributing £12 a game per person. Great value for the fan but that explains one reason why the budgets are tight.
I think you vastly over exaggerate the difference money from season tickets makes on the budget. We have signed all our best player to much bigger salaries and the fringe players were not earning combined what o’hare earns.
Next season will be the big rebuild I feel.
Yep because there is no such thing as a loan fee or wages to a loan signing, we get them for free
So to be clear, you think that four loan signings would cost us just as much as four permanent signings?
Depends on the quality of the signings doesn't it, a shit perm player may cost less than a good loan player when you factor everything in
It hardly has to be spend nothing or spend £120 million does it.
An average of 5 signings have been per club . And so far at an average fee of around £750k per player
The point is that last season we apparently had enough money to bring in several good players on permanent deals. Those same players contribute year on year and can be later sold for a profit. Apparently that isn’t the case this year, but you’re apparently fine with that?
But we have spent money, we've given new contracts to O'Hare and Hamer, brought in palmer who I bet wasn't cheap, could have afforded JCS and the guy from man city (they just unfortunately chose to go elsewhere)
I would also guess that we are also looking at better quality loans which again will cost us more money in loan fees and wages that begins so no I'm not pissing myself at the "lack" of money being spent because it's just not true
I think they thought JCS was an outside betWe also were planning JCS who would have been a permanent so clearly we are using the budget that was going on him on other targets.
Just need to sign quality on 2 year deals and it will be finePeople complained that we gave three year contracts to players who turned out to be duds. People now complaining that we may bring in loans which are a only a 1 season commitment
The situation is concerning of course as it has been for the last 10 yearsIf a summer of record season ticket sales, plus an extensive clearing of the decks of fringe first team players is only enough to secure one permanent signing all summer, then that’s very concerning indeed.

A three year contract is why we're not scrambling in panic to sell Gyokeres or Sheaf this season, too...People complained that we gave three year contracts to players who turned out to be duds. People now complaining that we may bring in loans which are a only a 1 season commitment
Can see the waghorns and the walkers being overlooked with the likes of Tavares as he on the pitch is hungry for the ball which is a great starting point.Oh and believe he will score more unless the 2guys pull there finger out.I have no problem with us bringing in 4 loan signings if they fill the glaring holes in our defence.
I'm more than happy to keep hold of our main players if it means we have to settle for loans for 1 season.
Would still like to see Walker and Waghorn moved on to free up wages but can't see it happening.
What awful hair! And that’s coming from someone follically challengedLatest twitter randomness:-
Nah. Then after one year you're left with either having to offer them a new deal or sell them so they can't end up leaving on a free in a year.Just need to sign quality on 2 year deals and it will be fine

Maybe a 2+1 in the clubs favour would be a better deal, but with a decent wage increase for that +1 so it's appealing to both the club and the player.
If we get 3 or 4 loans in over the next few weeks, then the only way more will come in is on the 1 out 1 in basis. Id be happy to keep the 4 best players, add loans and let MR wheel and deal until Jan comes round. In fact i think that is the best we can hope for.
Fair point. I doubt between they’d even cover Palmers wages? The players that have been moved on haven't freed up a great deal of budget though. Pask, Jones, Drysdale and even Shipley all would've been relatively low earners.
We do need cover for the striker positions. Obviously both Walker and Waghorn have been very disappointing but I feel we need to keep one and I would prefer it to be Walker as he has potential to be a Championship player if he develops parts of his game.I have no problem with us bringing in 4 loan signings if they fill the glaring holes in our defence.

I think the clearing of the decks needs to be Waghorn and Walker and perhaps Kane to make significant changes to the squadIf a summer of record season ticket sales, plus an extensive clearing of the decks of fringe first team players is only enough to secure one permanent signing all summer, then that’s very concerning indeed.
It depends if there are clauses/penalties if those loan players don’t play enough gamesSo to be clear, you think that four loan signings would cost us just as much as four permanent signings?
i had shouted him a while back on here, would love himLatest twitter randomness:-
Are the club expecting to keep everyone then? If we don’t lose anyone and replace Maatsen and JCS with loans I think we’ll be strong next year.I think the clearing of the decks needs to be Waghorn and Walker and perhaps Kane to make significant changes to the squad

I think they could be younger players in mainly premiership clubs ,so the % we have to pay could be relatively low
Only if they turn out to be shit, if they aren’t very good and we dont play as well with them in the team then take the penalty and perform better I think, you can say how many games you are going to give them whilst not knowing how they matchup fully against the rest of your team, but you never know if they’ll actually fit inSo the cost of loaning, say, Ben Sheaf could ultimately be the same as buying Ben Sheaf if we didn’t satisfy the parent club’s loan conditions? That seems pretty tough.

Maybe Waghorn will be better this season but I didn't see much last year to instil confidence. Maybe covid and injuries were the issue but I wonder if it is just his best days are behind him.
