It was apparently a done deal a month ago and he hasn’t been training with Solihull. I wonder if his pesky agent has left him in limbo?

I believe @The Philosopher may have some inside knowledge on this - apparently it’s already a done deal, I can only assume they’re waiting until they can print enough HUDLIN 9 shirts at the club shop to meet demand before they announce.

The fact that we have those four strikers is an embarrassment of riches to be honest.

Wouldve bit your hand off for a front four like that probably any time in the last ten years

People (not you, I know you’re is about wages) have short memories
Yes it's actually fine tbh, it's just becoming increasingly clear that some big earners need to move so we can do business and Walker/Waghorn are contributing less than other top earners. Wouldn't be against Kelly moving on too, I hear he's on a surprisingly big contract.

I still think Walker will come good. I’d say he’s as good a finisher as Godden

I do get the point that if we're not going to use him as first choice, though, he's using up budget inefficiently.

Pretty much yes, for his pay he needs to be a starter really. Agree with the above, he's a good finisher and I have no problem if he stays though. Would rather move on Waghorn out of the 2.

The longer it goes on the more it looks like another bluff by his agent. Probably trying to get a better deal there or at another non league club

I disagree - I think last year’s Championship playoff finalists would be crazy not to try and sign Solihull’s third-choice striker.

Nothing like a glass half empty kind of post. Allen was in the exact same situation last year.

Allen stayed, worked hard, and has become an average squad player on probably a fairly modest salary. Walker was meant to be one of our best strikers who was signed for a handsome fee (for us) and has bumbled around before going on loan and failing massively there at a lower level.

I am not saying he cannot turn it around, and I know you love Walker, but the two players aren't really comparable the way you think you are.

Walker out of all the squad looks most like a confidence player. As last season continued he just looked devoid of it. All those late cameos, getting hooked after scoring twice on the bounce etc.

Both parties have a huge interest in turning round his fortunes and perhaps should both change their approaches to each other

Chesterfield's injury record last season was appalling so I wouldn't hold your breath.
She probably got lots of practice then. Don't know anything about her or the person who was in post before her, if indeed anyone left. We have tended to improve our backroom staff in recent times apart from the youth team guy we lost to Wigan.

It's only a guess but i'd wager Allen's contract isn't that modest.

He was signed by Burton when they were in the Championship, so would've received a competitive salary when we brought him in in L1, most likely would've received an increase upon promotion, then of course was awarded a new contract in January.

Why do people keep going on about him being hooked after two goals? Gyokeres and Godden were scoring more and playing far better at the time. Do you really think any rational manager would have kept Walker in the team in place of those two. If his confidence is so fragile that he fails to perform for almost a whole season because of that it is more concerning.

I really hope he turns it around and becomes an asset as he has some ability. But he has a lot of development to do of his all round game before he is guaranteed a place in a Championship team.

The championship starts in 23 days and the transfer market closes in 55. Some teams could get seriously fucked by other clubs with more money, panic buying between 23 and 55 days, regardless if prem or championship. I hope we don't lose any of the big 3 after a good start to our season.

If we are resigned to having to retain one of Waghorn or Walker I think I’d take Waghorn.

based on the footage we have seen so far on tour he looks like he’s a popular member of the group, one of the bigger characters, and probably a better squad member. Add to that his experience then he probably just shades it for me.

I really don't get the talk of a championship club signing Hudlin from the Moors. I saw them about 5 times last season and although he is tall he is not so good in the air. He is good with both of his feet and because he is working with good coachesd he is improving but championship? He is a very nice young man and works hard but he is where he is because he is that level. Love to be proved wrong.
There are a lot of good players are semi-professional level and I spend a lot of time between Solihull Moors and Banbury United (Andy Whing's team) and the level is excellent. Banbury just signed that 'loads of money kid'.

To be fair I think it is only one person on here who is advocating this

It’s quite sad really, people have latched onto him particularly this agent to sell the “Britain’s tallest footballer” line. I doubt they care how good at football he is

Bit of a bad photo, but can’t upload it otherwise, does anyone know who the guy next to Dabo is so I can put the group chat at ease!
