Well why don't we just go all out and only allow people to vote between the ages of 18 and 35 and who only have a degree ?
I’m not sure how that follows or what you are getting at

to be honest evo mate i think what annoys me is not that people aren’t smart enough of educated enough to question whether or not the information they are being fed is true. That’s not fair, education levels are highly correlated with parents income etc.

What annoys me is that it doesn’t matter if they think it’s true or not…they WANT it to be true because it justifies them voting a certain way that’s actually based on something entirely different…unfortunately that’s often emotion and hatred of other different groups in society.

Someone in my family got an irish passport recently. I asked why. They said because it’s going to be so hard to travel and live in europe now. I said didn’t you vote for fucking brexit? They said yes but the politicians lied to me i didn’t know it’d be like this. Of course they were fucking lying they’re politicians but you didn’t care

I do agree with this but for the fact that Trump has already had his chance to do that and didn’t change anything for the better. His big plan on healthcare was to boot tens of millions of Americans off their insurance. John McCain stopped that last time, nobody can stop it this time.

That alone is going to hurt a lot of people.
This is totally true - but Biden was supposed to be the ‘cure’ to this. And he just tinkered around the edges.

Meanwhile everyone forgot how he did nothing last time.

I am struggling to understand how this has happened given how poorly Trump has campaigned. Maybe a Democrat was just not going to win given how people perceived the economy versus the reality, maybe it was just too late for Biden to drop out when he did, I don’t know.

But with far right lunatics now in charge of the Supreme Court, White House, Senate, and probably House, the US is going to hell in a hand basket, and with that so is the West.
He didn’t campaign poorly at all. His and JD Vance’s interviews on multiple podcasts were received really well. Whereas Harris ducked long form interviews and her interviews were poor. For example, the whole ‘60 Minutes’ scandal where the broadcaster edited Harris’ answer to make her look more competent. One CNN panel said of her town hall appearance that ‘she lost in a 1 person debate’, coming from her own side, that would’ve burned.

Harris outspent Trump 3 to 1 and is on course to get roundly beat.

Kamala Harris’ big problem is that she is a part of the current administration and with over 70% of voters (exit polls) saying the country is moving in the ‘wrong direction’ spelled big trouble.

I also think she tried to have her cake and eat it and it backfired massively. On one hand, she’s on record as saying she’d ‘have changed nothing about the last 4 years’ but also sought to present herself as a ‘change candidate’ i.e. ‘my presidency will not be a continuation of Biden’s administration’. On Biden, Harris being unable to give a straight answer to the question of ‘when she knew Biden was deteriorating’ summed up her up. Whichever answer she gave answer was bad because she either lied to the public about Biden’s mental faculties or worst, genuinely could not tell he was deteriorating.

I can reiterate what I said at the start of the night, Kamala Harris is a historically bad presidential candidate and the Democrats should rue that they didn’t have a primary.

From a political strategy POV, Trump’s gamble to go over low propensity voters has paid off off massively.
I agree

JD Vance was the most unpopular VP pick in the history of polling on the subject and Trump himself has a huge ‘unfavourable’ rating.

It’s hard for people to understand their motivation especially when it’s against their own interest, seems based on spite and insecurity, and their arguments are incoherent. I mean what do you expect people to say?

Why would I be insecure ? I'm thick as fuck .

But that's not for you to tell me I am

That's my point
There’s no way to respond to you because any questioning of your thought line or motivation is turned into you being called thick

I expect people to just be a bit more respectful and question why people would vote this way , rather than it being simply because they are thick .

Il have you know that when I was in the army a soldier would always rather follow the 20 year uneducated sergeant into battle than the university degree officer

Most of the time clever people have absolutely zero common sense from experience 🙄 not to label

There is the other side to this though when you can see the negative consequences of voting for a certain person or party from a mile off, people vote for it, the bad things happen and the guy gets re-elected anyway.

Can you see how that’s frustrating?

But people are asking fair questions and your response is largely just about being called thick. Who has called anyone thick?

Yeah I was in the army too and get the arguments about common sense where I work now but to be honest in my view it’s largely nonsense. Like people have that view then only remember the examples that suit it and it entrenches further but then they miss the wider context.

His to do list

1) give himself a pardon
2) persecute any official that was part of those charges
3) give the rich more tax cuts
4) try to change the constitution so that you can have more than 2 terms.
A dictator in all but name.

In the history of polling… tonight proved just how wrong the polls were, again.

On Trump’s favourability, his ‘retrospective’ approval rating went up to 48% which surpassed Biden’s approval rating of 41%. Again, it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that Trump won tonight.

The polls were actually bang on. My mistake was thinking they weren’t

Just to add do you see there’s a certain hypocrisy to the fact you feel everyone thinks you’re stupid and talks down to you yet label clever people as bumbling junior offices with no common sense?

It’s this kind of division that is exploited by politicians.

Ok il clarify , a person's education and how well they did at school is not the reason Donald trump won the election

I mean , that's what I've been saying all along that it fuels anger and resentment but because I said something about an educated officer you now realise that?

Mental

We’re going full circle. My original posts were that the anger and resentment is already there before voting and before anyone is called thick (which is largely imagined). It seems to be a chicken and egg thing. Your answers are constantly about being called thick (no one here has called you thick, only asked you to back up your points). I then said it all comes across as insecurity and am told that’s exactly the kind of talking down you hate but it was in response to your actions.
