He spent 5 years in belmarsh with no proceedings bought against him

from wiki: "He was found guilty of breaching the United Kingdom Bail Act and sentenced to 50 weeks in prison. The U.S. government unsealed an indictment charging Assange with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion related to the leaks provided by Manning. In May 2019 and June 2020, the U.S. government unsealed new indictments against Assange, charging him with violating the Espionage Act of 1917 and alleging he had conspired with hackers... Assange was incarcerated in HM Prison Belmarsh in London from April 2019 to June 2024, as the U.S. government's extradition effort was contested in the UK courts."

Not quite how you've spun it. He was charged by two states and he was in the clink while he contested his extradition.

You're comparing a bloke charged with espionage, sexual assault etc. with a student that asked her university to reconsider its position on Israel on the internet. What's the link between the two that means we should take about them alongside each other?

Is it? Let's not pretend this is a regime that is big on the idea of evidence e.g. vote rigging claims in 2020.

Edit: I've read four or five articles on this and it looks like she's being detained for putting her name to an op-ed criticising a university's position on Israel. Seems she was doxed by a pro-Israeli website.

Also makes Trump's exec. order re: anti-Semitism look a bit weird when he's previously branded people pushing the Jewish replacement theory at public protests as "fine people". In case you're curious...

How do them twats in that video have any relevance? They are idiots who are disliked by both sides

Trump signed an exec. order re: taking action on anti-semitism which seems to be the basis for detaining the student.

People in the vid chant anti-semitic stuff on a march. Trump didn't condemn it. Makes his stance on anti-semitism confusing.

I’m pleased you feel at ease to put your trust in the Trump administration & the various law enforcement agencies they now have full control over, I’m afraid it’s a trust that I do not share.
They definitely have clever people around, some maybe not so but definitely a few I’d say

14 minutes from “It all looks very staged” to “confirmed Hamas sympathiser” must be some kind of record, have you considered a job in the Netanyahu cabinet?
To be fair he does say confirmed as being accused of being a Hamas supporter.

Though being accused of something isn't a reason to revoke a Visa. Same reason why we don't just put everyone accused of a crime in jail.

Soon it will simply be espousing anti Trump opinions on the internet.

I can only assume what he’s meaning here is that if imported cars are increasing in cost to the consumer, US manufacturers may think they can profiteer off the back of this and up their prices.
US automakers build their cars with imported parts, which are also subject to the tariffs. So he’s basically telling them to absorb the extra costs until they reshore all their production.

I did wonder that, but then felt like that was giving him too much credit.

It seems he wants all the benefits of tariffs and none of the downsides.
