The BBC does not suggest that, someone they interview does.
Russia will hit the one million mark in a few months. It's absolutely obscene.
I know, I'm not basing Russian losses on their own figures or from Ukraine's.
There is no 'verified source' or 'official figure' for either side, obviously.
UK and US intelligence has very similar numbers for Russian losses.

Given no one is saying that probably not. I think you’re confusing casualties with deaths. 43K was Ukraines official death toll at the beginning of December, its casualty rate is far higher at 370k up to the same period. No sure where you’re getting a million figure from but Ukraine estimated by that same period 198k Russians killed and another 550k injured.

So exactly like I said then. No one is saying that a million Russians have been killed as opposed to 43k Ukrainian deaths. Total combined casualties for Russia of deaths and injuries reaching a million is not beyond the realms of possibilities if Putin insists on continuing with his imperialistic folly.

Some posters need to get their head around the cost of any Russian gains in terms of land. Russias casualty rate has increased exponentially this year to make little gains (in the big scheme of things) of bombed out waste lands. Ironically it tends to be the same posters dribbling over these inconsequential gains who accuse others of having a blood lust.

It’s also wholly consistent with what Ukraine claims are total casualties for both themselves and Russia. If your brains were dynamite you wouldn’t have enough to blow your nose.

Tonester no independent source has 43,000 Ukraine deaths. Yes I do and the death stated are 80,000 or around that It says it’s impossible and official figures are nonsense.
The general consensus is the figures are at double on both sides.
When I quoted a Ukrainian source saying the true Ukraine figures of dead and injured are more like 400,000 it was only conjecture apparently

You tried to claim that Ukrainians were saying that they were less than 400k , which they wasn’t. I’ve quoted official Ukrainian figures from the 6th of December (413k) which are consistent with 400k.
You’re just all over the place. Claiming that Ukraine has said something that they haven’t, claiming that the BBC said something they didn’t to back up your claim Ukraine has said something that they didn’t, linking an article that you clearly didn’t read which actually confirmed in the headline what I said while dismissing what you thought it said out of hand.

Mmm… interesting. And what do these independent sources believe the actual Russian death toll to be and how does that compare to the Kremlins official figures? Given you think accuracy of reported casualty rates is the measure of who’s in the wrong how do those two sticks compare? Is Ukraine more honest and trustworthy than Russia when it comes to casualty rates? It more honest isn’t it.
Also curious how you’re once again trying to move the goalposts. You say that the Ukrainian casualties are bigger than they’re reporting, more than 400k you claimed initially, when pointed out that they’re claiming that their casualties are officially over 400k you go and look for new figures.
Just so you know, you’ll always find higher figures and for many reasons. Countries always lie about casualties during war. We did it in WW1 and 2 for many reasons from morale at home to military tactics. You also have to consider that Ukraine doesn’t really know what has happened to the soldiers stranded behind enemy lines. Are they in prison, where they KIA or where they murdered after surrendering. We’ll only know the true figures after the dust has settled. Well, on the Ukraine side, I doubt we’ll ever know the true Russian numbers regardless.
The other reason you especially will find bigger figures is because you’re not bothered about the source, you don’t actually understand what you’re reading as you’ve proven once already today and you’ll always add your own context.
