Assemble a UN force to bomb the convoys while they remain exposed
Surely the fact these massive convoys exist and haven't been bombed the shit out of totally disproves Putin's argument of Ukrainian/NATO aggression. They're on foreign soil and so legitimate targets for the Ukrainians.

Also, to prevent escalation but further hinder progress why not bomb the routes and around them to make it hard for them to move? I know they're already blocking roads etc.

I think if he takes Ukraine the military and financial cost will be severe and the negotiation will be the removal of sanctions to relieve the Russian economy

I thought Putin didn’t care about the sanctions or his own economy?

He doesn’t - according to you the whole of west stock markets will have gone and Putin would be waiving the white flag of surrender

not the case at all is it?

My point is regarding some insane notion Putin is now going to deploy the forces across the whole of Europe which is utter tripe

Yes and I am. But it is still fucking moronic to trundle out "You going to sign up then" in reply to saying a sovereign nation shouldn't have to surrender all it's freedoms to an evil dictator. It's the 21st century version of hoping they stop at Czechoslovakia.

how are you involved David? Do you have a war game on your X Box and you are shooting a few soldiers on there?

Why would that be agreed to? Our negotiation would be 'fuck off out of Ukraine or the sanctions are staying and getting worse."

the EU of course is doing nothing about the gas reserves are they? What a progressive movement the EU is

I haven’t said that anywhere - can you dig up a quote?

Edit: I guess the laughing emoji means ‘no’

As stated before , we invaded Iraq without justification , what's the difference besides our views of their respective leaders at the time ?

Nobody said Blair and Bush were like Hitler

They killed over 1 million people , the only real difference is the location , Europe
Fair challenge it was wrong what they did

I was thinking the same. We can see where they are, surely blocking/blowing up road in front will delay them further. Ideally you bomb/block back end of the convoy as well. So they’re just stuck. Wonder why this hasn’t happened or if it’s even possible ?

Ukraine seems to have the weapons to do this both with the hand held anti tank weapons that we and others have supplied as well drones that Turkey has supplied. Maybe it’s tactically the right thing to do at this time, maybe the convoy has broken down so it’s a waste of armaments, maybe they don’t want to kill Russians until absolutely necessary and are holding off a potential massacre in hope that something happens meaning that they turn around and go home. All possible I guess. I can’t imagine that the convoy will be allowed to waltz into Kyiv with flowers thrown at their feet. Time will tell I guess but hopefully for some reason they turn around and go home.

Some Russian c**t was on the Beeb claiming the Russia hasn't attacked civilian areas and has only attack "military infrastructure"

I didn't see it but if its the one with Victoria Derbyshire I gather she completely owned him and it is trending on twatter. I don't think his words had quite the effect he was expecting.

She did, I would of just called him a c**t and cut him off

There are obviously reasons why they haven't done it. Some possibilities include:

- The convoy seems stuck anyway, lack of fuel
- It's mostly supplies and logistics so whilst it's obviously important to Russia, Ukraine are probably targeting fighting/offensive units
- There will certainly be a lot of anti air units in the convoy
- Ukraine only has a small air force and may not have air superioty in that region
- As soon as the convoy enters a city or bottleneck it could be attacked by hand held rockets and get blocked/held up there where its easier for troops to destroy it

But bombing in front of and behind the convoy isn't bombing them. Of course Putin and his cronies would cite it as such but considering the attacks on actual Ukrainian cities, including civilian areas, it would show the aggression is all from Russia. Ukraine would have an invading army inside their own borders that they were choosing to not blow it up. Imagine the damage and loss of life one sortie by a fighter squadron could do to that convoy.

Would be good if they instead dropped a load of leaflets saying something along the lines of "We could have bombed you. We chose not to. You are being lied to. We are not your enemy. Putin is"

A good idea. Fingers crossed one doesn't get shot down.

Really? So a man chooses to invade a country from 3 sides with nearly all he’s got and there are no similarities to a certain someone doing it in ‘39?

I guess the Ukrainian journalist who asked Boris the other day was taking the piss too.
Of course, Germany & the USSR were allied in WW2 up until Germany declaring war, largely due to Germany wanting/needing Russian resources. The Russians were so sceptical at the idea of a German attack that on the day of invasion, the coal trains etc were dispatched to Germany as normal.

We did, but much of that was actually down to Germany.

Molotov met with Hitler and concluded he could not be trusted, and so Russia did not support Germany. Hitler then effectively threw a tantrum and decided to invade Russia, thus overstretching his forces and leaving him fighting two fronts. So basically it became we had a common enemy.
We could do with a Molotov taking Putin to task in like fashion: he was supposedly "very school masterly", constantly telling Hitler off and interrupting him. Hitler was so annoyed that he ordered that plans for invasion begin immediately after their meeting!

I think they might have a role to play. If they decided to reduce trade/implement sanctions I’d imagine Russia will be well and truly fucked so they could certainly apply pressure. I said yesterday China doesn’t want this escalating to a nuclear war any more than us so it’s in their interests for Russia to de-escalate to reduce that risk

Suggestion on Twitter to leave Google reviews for Russian restaurants with the words

Ваше правительство лжет вам об Украине. Пожалуйста, найдите способ узнать правду от семьи, друзей и источников новостей за пределами России! Убивают невинных людей. Вставать!

Worth trying anything
