What do all the arms supplied by America do to Ukraine? Remember the war is being conducted entirely in Ukrainian territory

Yes OK but you agreed that the US wants Ukraine off the map. If it does it has a very strange way of going about it.

Only if you live in a simplistic goodies vs baddies world like you do

Fuckin hell. You do understand that Russia invaded another country? Have you somehow missed that detail? I really don’t know what to expect next from you. You sound like the sort of deranged individuals that’s claim Hitler was misunderstood while dipping into holocaust denial.

You clearly don’t. You may be aware that it happened but you’re well short of understanding the implications of that. I’ll help you out. That makes Russia the baddies. Same as it did is when we invaded Iraq on a lie. Or maybe you think that’s too simplistic again.

Depends. If you’re a Putin sympathiser then I guess not. If you believe that a sovereign nation has the right to democratically choose its own ideology and direction without fear of being invaded by a hostile neighbour who thinks they don’t have that right then there clearly is a goody and a baddie.

For the record if Ukraine had have voted in a pro Russian/anti EU government triggering the/a neighbouring EU countries to invade Ukraine I would be labelling those EU countries the baddies. I also doubt that you would be claiming that it isn’t a of goodies vs baddies, I don’t doubt for one minute you’d do anything other than label them the baddies. It’s pretty clear from this thread that your migration from far left to far right is complete.

I will entertain you Tony:

Yes, Putin is a baddie for invading another country. Where have I ever said otherwise?

Ukraine is entitled to defend itself (this isn't in itself virtuous). Where have I ever said otherwise?

The gymnastics you must be doing in your head. Just on the US Russia trying to achieve the same goal thing. You’ve become a parody.

The same outcome can be achieved through different goals, the USA's goal of keeping Russia occupied in war will equally contribute to the destruction of Ukraine as Russia's invasion in the first place.

So Ukraine is entitled to defend itself but by defending itself it’s ensuring more of them die? Has anyone told them of the paradise they could be living otherwise?

There’s only one country intent on destroying Ukraine and that’s Russia. For instance, they’ve just delivered Ukraine the unenvied accolade of being the most mined country in the world. On that single fact Russia is the baddie. The West (once Russia knows it’s already beaten) will have to assist in demining what Russia has done and that will fall mainly on charities and will take decades. For instance the Falklands was only just declared mine free in 2020 almost 40 years after the end of the conflict. I know you struggle with this but Argentina were the baddies in that one.

Is it Russia or is it Putin? It's important

It's the other actors involved isn't it?

Well, not really. Regardless of whether it received external support or not, if Ukraine continued to want to defend itself (and there’s nothing to suggest they’d have gone off the idea) then the same that is currently happening and likely will happen would have happened anyway.

The Ukrainian head of military intelligence seems to suggest otherwise

Russia's 3 day war is now a 3 year war

Sounds like desperation to me, a sabre rattling bluff. Have they even got the resources to fight until 2025 other than conscripts? In the last couple of weeks alone they’ve had to go cap in hand to North Korea for bullets, they had to suspend fuel exports this week in an attempt to avoid rationing in Russia, they’ve took a major hit to supply lines, they have a diminished ability to service equipment, they’re relying more and more on mothballed Cold War era equipment.

Couple that with Ukraine getting more and more sophisticated and accurate hardware (obviously because the the US wants to obliterate Ukraine) as witnessed with the attack on the Russian naval base in Crimea.
