Feeling shocked, pessimistic and hopeful all at the same time, didn’t know that was possible tbh 😂
I think Adi was brilliant but if an offer has come in for him, or if our management think we can do better, then needs must. Maybe this is the unexpected change we need to take us to the next level? Either way it’s not the news I was hoping for at the start of the new FFP tax year, let’s just see what develops I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️

Big surprise. I'll be interested in the reasoning behind it. You don't just let your coach go who has been a party to 7 years of revival at the club unless he wants to move on, or you have bigger ambition to support Robin's in a different way in achieving the goal of promotion that Adi just can't offer anymore. After such a long period with Robin's I would think Adi leaves with his blessing.

It could be Adi's choice, it could be things need freshening up.
Alex Ferguson worked with Archie Knox at Aberdeen. In his 27 years at Manchester United he worked with seven different Assistant Managers including Brian Kidd, Steve McCLaren, Mike Phelan, Jim Ryan, Carlos Queiroz, Eric Harrison and Rene Muelensteen

As far as im aware this hasn't been done without Robins giving the go ahead
And this is the money shot, as long as MR aligned, then no issue.....

I think we are moving, very quickly to modern, professional ways, from the old school backs against wall way. Change can be good, this can be good. Of course it comes with pressure and suspect MR will be under it, if we don't finish top 6. The new performance director having BIG influence clearly.

Like Lawrence, Vivash is NOT the only assistant in the world, there are others and better. Let's see what happens. Clearly there is ALOT going on behind scenes at club currently.

Boateng was a midfielder and Adi was a defender. Maybe different tactics looming

This is it.

At the moment Robins isn't under threat or won't be walking away.

However my concern is how long that will last. I really feel we're at the point now where he HAS to deliver top 6 absolute minimum

Robins had a higher win % in his first spell here with Taylor as his assistant.

Viveash has played a big part over the last 7 years but a change might be good. We'll find out when the season starts.

This is a very very irrelevant stat. A 3/4 month stint with an incredible squad for the level. Compared to taking over in league one relegation season over a 7 year period

A surprising development but I’m relaxed about it providing MR was involved in the decision and he is staying.

I know nothing about George Boateng as a coach but if he is half as good a coach as he was a player then it will be a good appointment.

wow, wasn't expecting this news.
my laptop is off for a couple of hours while i have my broadband updated, and i come back to this.

i can only assume robins is "ok" with it, or the announcement would have been both of them leaving.
i think the timing is a little odd.

trying to be positive, but it has taken a long time for us all to feel this positive about the club, and just as training starts again we get this news. adi may be old skool, but he was the closest person to robins at the club. big, big change!

Quite possibly but it’s not very enlightening to just say that there would still be a reason behind it.
The reason is she has decided the coaching set up needed changing, it's her call and her job to make that call.

Heard he was pissed off Robins didn’t invite him on the golfing trip.

Seriously though, it’s too abrupt to just be a revamp of the coaching structure.
It's abrupt though, they will have decided this a while ago and have announced today as it the start of preseason.

Hate to be that person, Harrison was the youth team coach. The 7th assistant manager was Knox again.

The whole recruitment probably kicked off early May as Claire-Marie Roberts spoke about the "process". That won't have been a quick thing.

Times move on and changes happen some for the good some for the not so good. However I hope Robbins was aware of this announcement or be prepared for a roller coaster ride to come. I will await to see who is appointed his assistant before making my mind up!

OK now I’m worried. Strange timing. Strange comms. And probably the most influential member of staff. Not good at all on the face of it.
