Just home .
Looked a yard off the pace all game .
But we will have bad games and we will lose games .
Still extremely pleased with our start to the season ..onwards and upwards

Murphy scored a super goal but the rest of his game is unimpressive, he's lazy, a bottler and is always on his heels.

He clearly has some ability so there is something there for Mowbray to work on.

Walsall played very well and we were just average. Losing Maddison hit us very hard tbh.

Willis was destroyed at full back with a lot of your attack coming through their left side.

If you offered me 9 points from our first 4 I'd bite your hand off. On to Southend then.

Murphy goal was class, completely unexpected. Just like to echo the sentiments from 'ccfc'. I would add that he doesn't go and meet the ball, hes always waiting for it too come and quite often it's easy to defend against him. I would have dragged him off at half time.

we left it too late to have a go at them. 88th minute reda went up front. far too late.

If we are going to persist with passing it out from goal kicks. I think Fleck could take up Reda's position on the edge of the box. neither of the centre backs can pass and both give the ball away with there long balls.

Yes absolutely, this was sort of what I was trying to get when saying he was on his heels. More than several times today a Walsall defender nicked it in front of him when the defender had absolutely no right to do so.

TM: "Hopefully he’s only turned his ankle but the medical department will get him scanned pretty quickly and we should have an answer early next week.”

Sounds promising, fingers crossed he's back soon.

Got to say, the little I saw of Murphy in midweek I wasn't impressed. Hopefully he pulls his finger out.

Murphy is a good player. How anyone can critique him after today is hilarious. Just because he doesn't run around like a fucking headless chicken doesn't mean he's substandard. Top bins form 25 yards = Not good - Coventry City fans' logic.

Willis had a poor game again and was always two yards of their player. Certainly to blame for their first goal and thats two games now where willis has been at fault. Every time the other side attack its always down our right and i think teams see willis as our weak point.

for me lameiras and vincelot were our best players today. Amstrong was unlucky from a free kick that hit the crossbar but apart from that he never got a look in down to being marked well and having no service.

a poor performance on the standards weve seen in the last few games, no quick passing or opening up defences and we were out muscled and outplayed in midfield today.

im sure that we will get back to winning ways against southend but fair play to walsall for playing us off the park today

He's got quality obviously, but I think in our team I'd question his work ethic compared to the rest. He doesn't track back as much or get stuck in and provide protection like O'Brien does. As Mowbray said, he's hardly trained with us so hopefully after a week or two of training he understands what's expected of him.

Super goal, the other 85 minutes he was poor. Nothing to do with running around like a headless chicken, Maddison, Armstrong and Lamieras aren't headless chickens yet you can see in terms of awareness and work ethic they are miles ahead of Murphy (from what I have seen in two matches)

Well from that point of the view it is a case of TM bringing him up to speed in terms of the requirements needed to play in this team. If he isn't able to consistently meet those requirements, then he won't play - simple as. Just not having him being plucked out as a scapegoat for the defeat. Silly moments before and after half time defensively speaking cost us, on another day we draw or even win the game - or they take their chances and finish us off earlier. It was one of those games. We won't play many slicker passing sides all season, which bodes well.

Yea I've already said he clearly has ability as demonstrated with the goal so there is definitely something for Mowbray to work with on the training field, hopefully its just a case of rustiness and the fact that he probably hasn't even trained with the lads yet due to the tight schedule. I'm just being honest in saying I haven't been impressed with his overall game in the two matches I've seen (he isn't going to score a worldy every week so its important his overall game is of a high standard) but I'm willing to give him a pass at the moment for the reasons I've stated above.

If in 6 weeks he hasn't shown any improvement then I'll be more concerned about the player for the upcoming season.

Our right back situation is more concerning for me. Two games and four goals all from the right hand side

Wasn't there today so not sure I should really comment on the right back situation. Yes on Tuesday Willis was out of position for second Crewe goal and made it easy for there centre forward. However all the team had switched off then. And the first goal I don't think can be pinned on a single player. When we win it shouldn't be Armstrong or whoever who takes all the credit nor when we lose can we really say it down to a single player.

I'm sure TM is looking to strengthen a number of positions in the squad/team. We will need them all working hard as a unit over the next 9months

Am I missing something? Has anyone scapegoated Murphy for the defeat?

Another centre half at right back.

I know, with his good end of season form at centre back, people have forgotten how poor he was at rightback. In fact playing him there was one of the bricks fans threw at Pressley saying he didn't have a clue. Now people want him back to play out of position at rightback. Bizarre

No ones making willis a scapegoat but its clear from the last two games which ive seen both that he is a weak link and the goals have come from poor defending from the right allowing them to get crosses in. He stands to far off his player and drifts into the middle giving their winger or full back the easy option of getting the ball under control and running at him

Mowbray is no mug. Today might serve as a timely reminder of some of the areas where we need strengthen. I suspect given the budget he would look for a better right back. Be an interesting couple of weeks to see who we can bring in.

Be tough
The first two games were against novice managers In this division, my one all prediction was being optomistic

Burge at fault fir that 2nd goal.imo
Shit parry from what was a cross shot.

It.is.no coincidence that Willis and burge are always the weaklinks
