well he didnt lose many games before he left, so like i said we would have been ok had he stayed. i am annoyed at him for leavingI think that’s the point we all wanted a experienced manager in TM to adapt or be honest and walk away sooner.
He opted to stay but then not maximise the budget adapting, playing a way the type of players he sign can. And let’s be honest he had a blank canvas to try and shape something.
Managers generally have a favoured system and a back up system. So for me he I believe he could of adapted especially given the era he played as a player he could of mustered up a traditional set up side fit for the demands of a season

yeah but we were not far from being out of bottom 3 pts wise, also his last game we scored injury time equaliser, he had not lost dressing room or anythingProblem was no wins in 10. Only 12 goals conceded at that point but only 6 scored, only 6 points on the board. I’m not so confident we’d of stayed up still.
After all TM said let’s see where we are after 10 games.
Bottom is the answer.
Some interesting quotes tho from his departure
"We knew what the budget was but we didn't get our targets”
"They're babies in a man's league”
“I probably let them down by not getting in the big 6ft 4in centre-half we were after, who could have been a man and help us keep clean sheets”

hes been honest about not getting his targets(1 of which was a big man defender?) but it seems apparent if he could go back and do it again he would do it differently no doubt.
nice backhanded comment lolOh no without doubt he’d not lost the dressing room at all, it’s just that dressing room wasn’t up to the requirements of a season as we seen at charlton and Southend not long after.
My other issue is the belief that defender was Kelvin Wilson. A man with a worse appearance rate than that of the outgoing Reda Johnson.
Dice were rolled that summer.
I will say one thing tho as we could bang on about this forever and ever... You conducted a decent debate and spoke well for a change.
Fair play.

agree, would love to see current cov team play like mowbrays!
funnily enough no, more like the winning and scoring lots of goals that we got in his first full seasonWhat losing and scoring no goals?

oh i did, we won for 4 from final 5I take it you didn't turn up for the second half of that season then.
funnily enough no, more like the winning and scoring lots of goals that we got in his first full season
final 5 tend to be in 2nd half of season
nice backhanded comment lol
and yeah i agree we going round in circles
to summarise i take your point that budget wasnt used as well as it could have been and no real plan b when targets were lost. my personal opinion is budget slashing through off plan a big time and thats a real shame for the football club as we could be where blackburn are now. i dont beleive it was a squad worthy of relegation either and think TM would have got us mid table personally, also annoyed he left the job early.
that said we had our own success since(and so has he which shuts down talk of him being a poor manager) and long may that continue. i will remember tm fondly however.
yeah like i said we won 4 out of final 5,thats 2nd half of season

no its not only, but i said winning and scoring goals like in his full season. you agree did did that right? you isolated it to 2nd half of season and i have given you an example of winning and scoring in that time
also season wasnt thrown away as we were chasing the playoff pack till penultimate game iirc
you need to stop lying, i know you are desperate to beat me in debate one day but come on. show some honour
has nothing to do with what i said so no need to answer. you are trying to change the argumentHow many points in 28 games?

lets clarify
i said i would like to see current team play like mowbrays
you said what not score and lose? i will accept it was a honest question
i gave you the answer that i had surprisingly chosen the goals and winning mowbray team
joy assumed i had not seen 2nd half of season that year
i advised him i had and pointed out a time we scored and won
get it now? you guys asked questions relevant to my original statement and i have answered them in full. you have nowhere else to go now with this one.
hehehe i am not perfect pal
Lol never claimed to be perfect. Just smarter than posters on here that are desperate to out do me!Please can I keep this for the future, pretty please! ;-)

I think you only need to read the EU thread to demonstrate your latter point but moving back to the topic, it was the man in charge ŵho was serving absolute drivel week in week out that sent us down. You win 3 in 16 games and you deserve to be sacked. There's no way you can say Mowbray wasn't responsible. He was the one that started the chain of events that led to our relegation.
I really don't understand why people blindly defend him for absolutely everything. Using your political analogy, it's like supporting one party and refusing to criticise them even when they make bonehead decisions, then attacking other parties for every move they make, regardless of what they actually are.
