I just knew you would like that. I’m feeling in a slightly flippant mood today, got home yesterday 4 days after a 5 hour operation removing most of my brain tumour.

let me also offer Mark Venus
Best wishes and for for a speedy recovery!

The general consensus before the game was that we’d lose heavily, yet when we narrowly lost the bedwetting commenced.

We conceded 2 goals in injury time after failing to see a 1-0 lead out .

Are we genuinley at a stage now where that's bedwetting to be pissed off about that ?

It is what it is, it was a galling way to lose and everyones cope is to double down. Tbf my 'agenda' is to get rid of shite like Lati and BTA as soon as possible.
Regarding managers we've not even been able to compare apples to apples yet as Lampard hasn't had access to the only player who has actually been good for us all season and more recently the player that stepped up for him too. With Sakamoto picking up a knock i suppose we had to try something different.
I'm hopeful for Jan, i think we need 3 or 4. Get those, get Wright/EMC back, maybe things don't look so bad in a few weeks? We can but hope.

I'll be very plenty surprised if we get 3 or 4 in.

I'm expecting a couple, but getting Wright and EMC back will be a big boost.

I can't reply directly to that post @Nick , but really people obviously said the first bit but the second bit is obviously a bit exaggerated .

Surely though sarcasm and exaggeration are an everyday occurrence on here , you yourself pulling up everybody because they are not quoting exactly are potentially opening yourself up to be pulled up in future if you veer a tiny bit away from what's being said exactly.

It's pretty obvious in the quote I posted to you, I simply asked for them to be linked to / quoted.

Then you have PVA jumping in with "you wanted Robins out" but then doesn't seem to be able to quote or link to the other bit.

There are been a couple of others but can’t be arsed to find them.
Im pretty sure I did as well. Sorry and all that, but we should all be able to express an opinion. It was all going a bit Pete Tong. MR had a fantastic spell with us, but I think the special relationship was breaking down. I thought he was done when he was doing drying eyes gestures at our away support - can’t remember which match now. I thought it was pretty disgraceful tbh.

Edit, reviewing thread I may have confused myself here, obviously talking about MR not FL

Lampard and the new coaches haven’t moved the needle with the majority of the squad (the only exception being EMC.) I don’t see a tactical upgrade and the basics, like our first touch and passing is fuckinghorrendous

I'd disagree with this (a bit!). We're pressing from the front in a way that's worked well. Midfield has been sh*t but I don't know if you pin that on Lampard when our captain's output has fallen off a cliff.

Some movement from fullbacks in build up is different and interesting and we've been getting on the end of more crosses to the back post whatever system we've played. Not amazing, but not zero.

I think we’ve actually looked good under Lampard, until he lost EMC.

I think he expects to have him and Wright back in contention for our next league game decided to just try and shithouse a result at Norwich.

You look at underlying stats and chance creation, they were great until EMC got injured and have dropped off a cliff since (other than Cardiff 2nd half v 10 men).

I kind of get the negativity but it is a bit tiring. There’s positives if you look for them.

I think people are looking for positives that aren't really there.

Sheaf has been up & down all season (more down than up unfortunately) but Eccles has only fallen off a cliff since Lampard came in.

We also actually have less successful crosses per game now than we did before Lampard.
We scored goals from crosses to the back post vs Everton in pre-season & vs Oxford, Middlesbrough & Sunderland pre Lampard & missed countless other opportunities from that position too (EMC particularly guilty), it was always a part of our gameplan this season.

I think we’ve definitely, at least in the games we dominated, have been better at getting men into the box which was always a bugbear under Robins. No idea if stats back that up but that’s the eye test. I’m not sure if we’re any more effective but he’s obviously trying something different there.

When I was watching Lampard tactics videos it was pretty much the only tactic he ever mentioned was that line of five across the front with one crossing three in the box and one arriving the other side.

I'm not, I can only talk about what I'm seeing. I think there's clear differences in the way defend from the front and how we're trying to build up in possession, even if it's not worked in a few games.

Keep in mind that with the rush of games over Xmas, the new staff will have had 10-15 proper training sessions, so expecting a huge turnaround in that time feels a bit much given what they walked into.
