You know the president of FIFA is a wrong un when he rocks up on the podium wearing white trainers with a suit.

Standard garb for your premiership manager these days.
Everton may on a fast track to relegation but Sean Dyche looking resplendent in the dugout in trousers, shoes, white shirt and tie.
Contrast that with Unai Emre.....

No I have one. Does that mean I should pretend?

It's nearly as bad as the faux outrage about a keeper shirt not being on sale.

"Disgusting" really?
I dunno bout no outrage. I didn't even know it was an issue till you posted it.

But I dunno what's so funny about saying if a kid wants keeper shirt be nice if it available to buy.

It's the fact that you seem to think that by having a daughter means you must pretend you love women's football.
Don't have to love it. But you shouldnt be down on it. Should want it get get better and better incase your daughter or someone elses has a dream to play it one day

The women's game has come on leaps and bounds. Long may it continue.

I have been watching the England international games now for a number of years. Have to say, we ARE much better than what we saw today.

Just thinking there may be many who watched today for the first time and wondered what all the fuss is about, but Keira Walsh is a top, top player. One of the best in the game. That wasn't the Keira Walsh I know, this morning.

Don't dismiss them as inferior to Spain etc. They were very much so today, but England do play some lovely football at times.

Today we were just outdone tactically and were below par. We have stuttered a bit the entire competition to be honest.

England usually are a very, very good team.

It's worse when people speak about things like that pen save like it's an achievement of a 5 year old and it was amazing. it's patronising.

Probably handing out medals for last place in sports days as well.

That's BS. There is a boy at my school who became a goal keeper based on Jordan Pickford in the world cup few years back and that pen shootout Vs Colombia. He's a idol to him.

He plays for a legaue team now on weekends.

It's positive.

What's bs? That it wasn't an "amazing" save?

Give it 2 months and nobody will remember it.

They did a piece on it on Radio 1 newsbeat a few weeks ago, a good 5 mins out of the 15, repeated several times.

No that the save might not inspire a young child to take up the sport. Amazing or not. I brought the same GK gloves Neil Sullivan wore in 1998 just cos I saw one game where played well and I decided he was best keeper on earth lol. I gave up after a few games down park as preferred outfield but for some it may stick.

Women's football is clearly coming on leaps and bounds. If you focus on little things that annoy you personally rather than look at big picture I think it's a shame.

Careful Nick, you’ll be accused of being an Incel next. We must all gather together to celebrate how incredible Womens football is and keep all our fingers crossed it appears in even more sections of sky sports news and on the BBC football app because everyone is so fucking interested in the incredible spectacle that it is

Beaten by the better side on the day, unfortunately. Had we scored early on when we had chances, might have been different but overall Spain got on top, dominated the ball and then we struggled to get back into it. Decision making was a let down too often, especially the one that led to Spain's goal.

Overall, disappointing today, but I'm sure they'll learn and come back stronger for it.

I do think some people have it in for women's football

I understand the annoyance of all the overhype and media frenzy etc, but be annoyed with the media and the papers. Don't be annoyed with women's football. It's not their fault everyone else is bigging it up.

I am moving to Folkestone soon and if they have a women's team, I will gladly go along and have a look.

I think it's great young girls at school are now getting the same chance the boys have always had.

It's getting better but not same yet. That will take time

I have had students asking me to be manager of girls team as PE won't make one.

When I looked into it they said not enough girls interested to make a team. And tbh it'd true as I know about 7-8 girls that want to play but spread over year groups so I'm not sure if it's possible. But I will look into it

We can’t have it one way and not the other. Many people will go back to absolutely hating football and have the biggest smile on their faces when the men lose. Standard is what it is, we all know the truth of it. The point scoring between the English and the English is tragic. Can only laugh at them. Especially those who lose their partner for a few hours every weekend to go to the football.

Templars primary have one of the best girls teams in cov , 3 players at academies .. we played the boys on a friendly and it was 3-1 .

I coach a girls Saturday team u12s , in the Premier league next season against West Bromwich albion and coventry city .

Some girls like my daughter also play in a boys team on a Sunday and don't look out of place .

They are however 2 different games and impossible to compare once they get to u15/16 level ..boys are fitter stronger and faster but that doesn't mean that the game can't be enjoyed .. it's the same as non league football fans watching an inferior product to the Premier league , they still enjoy it .

Either way the women's team did well , both the men's and womens teams are competing for trophies now

All i know is my daughter at 11 , is a better footballer than many many boys at her own age

Well said. We weren't unlucky today though. 🤪

It's the media that talks about 1966 etc.

It's two different games. Same sport, two different disciplines almost.

Love watching the City play, but if the Sky Blues ladies team were half decent, I would go and watch them and love watching them too.

We don't treat women's tennis with such disdain even though we know its a different level .. hopefully football can get to that level of respect that women's tennis enjoys

I’d have taken 3 points yesterday over them winning the WC today, guess that’s where I am with it. Very pro it but not that fussed about it

To be fair they don't always get it right and Nike would of made decent money if they had.

They get it right far more times than they get it wrong, how many would they have sold 500 a 1000 not worth them even turning the machines on, a goalkeepers jersey is a tiny market. The best way forward is they pre sell the shirts and say they will only manufacture if they get to the required amount by a certain time.

I have to say some of the games at the World Cup have been pretty good and the standard of football has been better than I expected .

That's because the standard of women's domestic football in England is generally crap and the goalkeepers , particularly, are woeful. Wouldn't watch them if I were given a free ticket.
