Would you have Tom Bayliss back? (1 Viewer)

Not gonna get many looks in and hasn’t really so far at Preston…Eccles is out and we still need a replacement for him till at least when he recovers, makes sense to try getting Bayliss back on loan with a cheeky buy option if he does well? Risk worth taking IMO.

He'd go from not getting many looks in at PNE to not getting many looks in here
Be ok as 5th/6th choice cover but we've upgraded a lot since he left
that’s exactly what we’d be bringing him in for tbf. just someone with something to prove that can’t expect much right away, just be filling the gaps for a while, but i’d say Preston have a more fruitful midfield than us so I reckon it be good for him.

His type of player would fit perfectly in the role Allen plays in the box system we use if he could repeat the form he had with us I’d have him but for whatever reason he has hardly played for PNE which suggests he isn’t good enough so not sure.

No, he's a great league 2 player, but do we really want to go back there?
If we need another AM player I trust MR to find one, or to utilise JJ or Bright (whatever happened to him?)

You may as well ask if we'd have Baka back because Eccles is injured.

Yes.
He would be an interesting player in our current formation - gliding past players in the final 20-30 minutes and running at the oppo. Our formation in his final year with us wasn’t right for him.
Just because it hasn’t worked out at one club (could be down to many factors) - doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a star back here even at a higher level.
And I like a good story - Bayliss coming back ‘home’ and delivering on all of that early promise would be brilliant.
(As I like a good story I would be a terrible manager - Robins is actually very cut throat!).

Ha very good 👍

I liked him and a bit surprised he hasn't gone on to better things. There is a very good player in there somewhere and as said earlier, replacement for Shipley?
Why the absolute fuck would you want to replace shipley with Bayliss it makes no sence whatsoever?
If we were to off load Shipley, why dont we replace him with something we actually need like a LWB.
Honestly your suggestion is like saying why dont you sell the family car, and replace it with some cut Crystal sherry glasses from argos!

So in short it's a no from me 😉

Because Shipley is useless and Bayliss, I think could be good. I get your point though...its not practical and won't happen but you'd swap them tomorrow if it was that simple.
I'm not usually one of the player returning home mob but I quite liked him

I was always a big fan of Bayliss but he need to join a league 1 team and establish himself as a regular for a while now

He should’ve stayed with us because he’d be actually playing in the Championship now.

I would take him back on a v cheap deal if Robins felt he had something to offer.

He’s hardly played since leaving us, so his development has stalled. It could take months for him to get back to the level at which he left us, which is below the level of a number of our current midfield.
By that time Eccles, who has much better prospects will be back and established in the squad

No. I'd be more prepared to give Jodi more match time than Bayliss. Better for us in the long run.

Absolutely no chance. Will spend his career in League 1.

One of those we overrated because he had a good season in League 1/2.

Not even close to the level of Sheaf, Hamer and O'Hare.
