you are absolving slade of any blame for such a bad run. that is wrong.

citing it as one of the reasons is fair enough but you dont have a go at slade for anything.

I question a few decisions but understand most. We're not as fans generally UEFA A or B licence holders, so I like Ive done over the years is look and try to understand why a decision is made by all managers even TM. Many debated the 4141 and use of Foley in the holding role at Wimbledon saying that not his role. He can play that role and did it well against Wimbledon and Gillingham, and RS preferred him to Bigi. If you look why he's set up that way it makes sense.
I'm not as you say absolving Slade of any blame, he's the manager and he's employed to get results. Just like TM, MV he too has struggled.
So under TM....
Was TM close to wins? Yes, fine margins in the first 3 games for starters. Northampton, Millwall and Oldham too.
Why didn't those wins come? Lack of goals, belief in there own ability. Not enough shots to try....
Any errors, or mistakes? None I recall
Did the team collapse? Yes against Bradford, and Fleetwood.
Uninspiring? Yes against Shrewsbury, Bury, Fleetwood and Oldham.
Best games? Millwall away? Comeback against Wimbledon.
Under RS.....
Was RS close to wins? Yes against Peterborough, Bolton and Wimbledon.
Why didn't those wins come? Individual errors and lack of mental strength to she the game out.
Any errors? Yes plenty, Peterborough, Bolton, Fleetwood, Oldham, Swindon.
Did the team collapse? Yes at Bristol rovers, Northampton Oldham and arguably Swindon.
Uninspiring? Yes Bristol Rovers, Chesterfield, Oldham and Swindon.
Best games? Peterborough, Bolton, Gillingham 1st half.

Why is everyone getting on Slades back.
He is just there to take the flack and the pressure off Fisher and Venus.
Slade was the cheap option and has no intention of staying.
While we have our owner and the Puppet Fisher things will always be the same.

I started when he played Lameiras as a target man. Unless that was a direct instruction from fisher, (in which case slade should have walked), then he has to carry some responsibility for what's happened since the turn of the year.

Yes, the coach driver should leave early and leave Slade in Bury

and the players, and directors. We used to be a club that could beat Arsenal, ManU and Liverpoll and hold our own in the Prem....now we're going to Bury away in the third division without any expectation of anything but a thrashing. You lose the sense of the enormity of our decline when, like most us, you are glued to the day-to-day events.....

Slade has 2x L1 Manager of the Year awards, the last one only 2 or 3 seasons ago. He clearly isn't a bad manager. That said, he has proved that he can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear, but I struggle to believe that any manager at our level could have turned this woeful squad into anything more than the cannon fodder they are. I would give Slade the summer to rebuild and take it from there.

the bloke does not know what he is doing. who has he brought in that has really improved the team?

As the above post said he has won Manager of the Year awards at this level.

To suggest he is a pub manager or whatever is lobbed at him is absurd.

RS is /was clearly a half decent manager at this level. TM is/was a half decent manager at a higher level (championship). They have both failed at CCFC - Why is this? What is the common denominator?

This is my point, the man who assembled the core of the squad has the same points tally as the man who currently steers it. The man in the middle sure got some wins a long long time ago before shattering anything about them.
Manager of the year awards, FA cup runs, play off finals all built from barely a penny on a base and structure built upon graft, fight and belief simply cannot wing it for over 15 years.
This is why I say and maintain give him the summer to bring his squad in.

But he shouldn't of taken the job in the first place if he knew there were issues in the club that couldn't be resolved. If you had anything about you you would tell Sisu to do one and do the honourable thing and resign like Mowbray. He knew that the ship couldn't be saved, and if Slade knows it, why bother trying when it's impossible under the current circumstances. But we all know that in the end it all comes down Sisu.

If all self respecting managers thought like that no one would touch the club.....
I see your point tho

The thing is it feels like he's trying to hang on for as long as possible, even though he knows nothing is possible with these 'owners'.

He's a manager who's used to working with nothing tho, just a set budget. Spent the bulk part of his management career assembling competitive sides for nothing all on frees.
The summer is when the work needs doing and he's gets the players that will give 100% for 96 mins week in week out.
The current crop ain't doing that

How anybody can make a case for Russell Slade baffles me his record is atrocious, facts are there to see joined we were ONE point adrift 4th from bottom, we are now eleven ffs! his recruitment has been as bad as Mowbray's. Who has he signed who has improved the squad ? which was vital to be improved upon for survival ? And now there's the Yakubu farce, how he could be signed after over a weeks trial to enhance a relegation fight quite frankly is baffling. He can't run now when he might some part for jesus he must have been stagnant those initial trial days.
I hope this Slade rant spurs us to victory tonight though.

I agree pretty much with nearly all of that but the issue is the quantity of players out of contract.... thankfully!! you won't even make a team.
It's a huge summer ahead

More likely a busy couple of days as they sort through the leftovers

Fisher, he is the figurehead and sets the tone for the whole club. His record with us is terrible, championship contenders to foot of League 1.

where in my post do i call him a pub manager? i have clearly stated he doesnt know what he is doing, and the fact you didnt mention any players in the quote above makes me think you dont feel he has improved the team

Please can you give us an idea of your source for this? Fair enough if you don't want to name names, but would be good to get a steer.

A mate of mine is reasonably matey with TF, and via this mate I understand that TF has been deeply unimpressed with some of our performances under Slade.
A lot of people have been deeply fucking unimpressed with our performances under TF.
