I thought they said they would consider any 'reasonable' offer for ACL and that the freehold was not for sale.

But based on your evidence I could be wrong.
Oh hold on ......... I'm right.

I repeat this is a claim made which has no documents to support the claim.

We do have a letter which says the offer was for 125 year lease which the council never disputed.

So you know even use the CET as your reference source.

Comedy gold.

Ok, but has Joy ever denied the unencumbered bit? Has she ever denied threatening endless litigation? Are we experiencing endless litigation her having not got the unencumbered freehold? Do the facts not fit the story?

No we're not facing endless litigation. It will definitely end one day.

Fabricated nonsense.

Well if it is fabricated nonsense like you claim I guess that the real question is who fabricated it?

Les Reid certainly believed it enough to post it on twitter, sorry on my phone so can't do a link but here's what he said and when

"Sisu want unencumbered freehold or new long lease & ACL removed by council. Ann says Higgs won't sell

10:06 a.m. - 15 Jan 2014"

So who told him? :thinking about:

See above post ( mixed in with Tony's ). Has Joy said she would take a lease with restrictions? Yes or no.

I'm just pointing out that for a piece of "fabricated nonsense" it seems to get referenced alot and by people who clearly come at the whole mess from different angles. If everyone with different agendas is using it that's usually a good indication that it's true.

You say it's fabricated I'm just asking who fabricated it in the first place?

Restrictions? What restrictions do wasps have on their lease to terminate existing contracts. I thought that Lucas said the fine print was confidebtial.

Many leases offer the same rights as freehold. Are you saying wasps have restrictions? What are they and how do you know.

Yes by the way we know that she would accept half the length lease and for half share. As it's half share it was an extension to the existing term with the council still excercusing overall control.

Not to my knowledge, but those who say different surely have a link to confirm it and put this bullshit to bed once and for all

Oddly the link is on a thread started a couple of weeks ago.

Considering everyone wanted "the truth" it's really odd these letters have not been widely picked up on.

I would still rather have the owners of CCFC having control of the Arena with CCFC badges alone than with a team who have zero affinity with the area. But maybe I'm alone in having that point of view. Mainly because if SISU controlled the Arena then there would be a hell of a better chance of them selling up and leaving as they would have something to sell; and there would be no talk of having to move and find another home; which I have to say I agree with.

Like I said I'm pleased in a way it's happened as it shows Mutton up...and...those who said "anyone but SISU". All those begging letters hindered not helped.

Excellent post.

Here's what the BBC reported on the 14th of January, again on my phone so can't do a link but it's still on their website if you google it.

"Coventry City Council is willing to consider bids for the Ricoh Arena and the surrounding land, the authority's leader has confirmed.

Councillor Ann Lucas said the council would listen to "reasonable and sensible offers" for the freehold but stressed the site would not be sold "unencumbered".

Strange that on the 14th you have AL saying this and then the very next day we get another media source saying that SISU want exactly what we were informed just the day before wasn't available? Coincidence?

Have trouble following the English there. So, she has said she doesn't want unencumbered freehold and would be happy with a lease that could contain restrictions- e.g. in the Butts lease the Rugby Club can only use the stadium for Rugby and cannot knock it down for some other purpose. Have you got a link to her letter? That would clear everything up. What restrictions would she have accepted if she could not get the equivalent of "unencumbered"?

I'm going to frame this post for posterity. It's honestly the funniest thing I've read on here.

The funnier thing is you won't even know why.

If it was wrong Sisu would sue them surely?
If they can stop the Guardian publishing information that later came out as fact in the JR the CET is just chicken grit.

Sorry? You've said on a couple of posts wasps have a leasehold with restrictions.

What restrictions?

Do you know if they have any? Could they "knock the Ricoh down?"

As I have said the link is on a thread started recently. It's of interest you, given your total impartiality, have failed to scrutinise it.

Lucas made this claim. Lucas says lots of things as does her comrades. One is that the Ricoh was always built for two franchises.

I answered the question.

You made a statement that wasps accepted the lease with restrictions. What restrictions?

Really. Are these claims about Wasps' lease in the same post as where I confirmed that Mowbray is going to Fulham? No doubt you can show it to us- or are you just bullshitting?

Wasps would have to pay to cancel contracts. SISU didn't want to pay for the Ricoh. So what makes you think that they would want to pay to cancel contracts?

Please provide a link that shows they have to have paid cancel contracts.

A week or so before the SISU made a bid for the AEHC shares in 2014 they said they were not interested. They then make a bid via the administrator that we don't have the details of except for some community initiatives that the Charity were not interested in being a partner to. For the charity I would guess a clean break was very attractive being tied in to projects with SISU was not - perhaps understandably. Was it really a serious offer or one to say we tried - I am sure we all have our own opinions on that. But again their own bid put a value on the Charity shares of £2.77m.

Valuations are opinions at a specific time for a specific purpose based on certain criteria that change with the purpose. They will vary. They may or may not form part of something that is valued in another manner/purpose at a much lower amount.

I think I can help you there:-

Joy Seppala speaks over Coventry City Ricoh bid against Wasps
http://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/...r-coventry-city-ricoh-bid-against-wasps-4239/
COVENTRY City are set to table a “conditional” bid for joint ownership of the Ricoh Arena company with rugby club Wasps, we can reveal. And in a rare exclusive interview with the Coventry Observer, Joy Seppala, of the club’s hedge fund lenders Sisu/Arvo, explained why – while insisting the club will press on with “medium-term” plans for a new stadium in the local area.

“It’s a complex situation having 50/50 but it’s not to say we can’t work it out. We would like to secure our position for as long as it takes to build a new stadium”.

You couldn’t make it up.

Pretty sure Joy also said at some point they would consider a leasehold agreement.

Where did you answer the question? Are you claiming that there is a link to a letter where Joy says she doesn't want the unencumbered freehold? I can't find it. Anyone else know where it is? Was it before Wasps turned up?

Still can't understand how a business being liquidated and owes money can bid for a share in ACL?
Surely if there is money available it should be used to pay the debts?

The Skybluetalk finance course has failed?

Yes, you couldn't make it up. Comedy gold as one says.....

I think it's the 3 line Whip that you are slavishly following that's boring.
