TM always said this was a two year plan. Since he arrived he has turned a shambles of a club and put in foundations and structure for the future. He has done this on peanuts of a budget. Build a club on sand and it will fall down. Build on firm foundations and it will not. Yes, we are disappointed after showing promise, but is the club ready to survive in the championship at this moment in time? Look at what TM has achieved, not what he hasn't.

Foundations ? What foundations exactly. This squad is looking like finishing around 13th now and then come June it will be a complete re build ? We have been set up to be a non loss making League One club by our owners. They have given Mowbray an opportunity to bring in players as long as they are largely on the cheap to be fair but he seems to have got almost everything wrong from December onwards. We are still awaiting the results of yet more court actions and we still haven't got a long term stadium deal in place, I'd say we are still a very rudderless ship !?

We have to keep him, hes been let down by a lot of the players. The centre back situation is ridiculous, I've never known so many players get injured from one position, most of his signings since January have been awful (seems like panic buying).

Still a long way to go and we can't give up yet.

Whilst that's true, they are still or better players and you'd want to build around them rather than replace them, and as poor as this form is, they were part of the early season good form too.

It's a little like SP in respect of we had a squad based on a Sixfields budget, then expanded it with the increase from our return.
This season we opened with a tight small squad and as crowds increased,the budget expanded to allow what appears to be a lot of tinkering.
The obsession with collecting midfielders over defensive or goalkeeping options for me is an error.
TM has admitted himself to needing to be cautious when bringing in reinforcements, not to upset the dressing room.
There must be two or three midfielders wondering what they did wrong.

TM has bought badly since Christmas so lets hope he is already earmarking players for next season (not journey men) as we cant continue to chop and change the squad as we go along. Injuries have been terrible but we were 20 mins from relegation last season so lets not be unrealistic. We are all disappointed with the drop in form but if we can start from a stronger platform next season lets see how we fair. 20 players out of contract, 20 players that maybe are not good enough to get us promoted.

1988-89 season we finished 7th; 2005-06 season finished 8th; every other season we finished in double figures since 88-89. We are 9th now and 3 points from the play-offs and people are talking about getting rid of TM. This has been a good season overall and we still have a chance, I for one wants TM be Coventry manager for a long time.

3 play-off crashes, 4th to come?

He took Hibs into the top four in back to back years for the first time ever and won the Scottish football writers manager of the year for doing so.
He took over a relegation battling West Brom side and got them to 4th in the table and lost 1-0 in the play off finals (I would not see that as a failure season)
As I wouldn't see this season as a failure with us.
He then changed the whole squad made it his team and won the title and got to FA cup semi finals
( that's what I hope for next season a resounding success)

Failed at Celtic

Joined Middlesborough and saved them from relegation.

Finished 7th the next season
Not a failure having taken on a relegation battling side the season before. (IMHO)

Left the club the next season. (Failed)

So for me he screwed up at Celtic and once at Middlesborough his final season when he left the club in October after a crap start.

2011/12 season, at Christmas Middlesborough were 3rd. They finished the season in 7th place. 5 points outside the play-offs.

2012/13 season, at Christmas Middlesborough were 3rd and 7 points clear of 7th place.

They finished 16th.

Even Mowbray himself has said this has happened twice before to him.

Unfair wingy. Yes we've got a lot of midfielders but Mowbray been very unlucky with injuries to the back 4. Johnson, Turner, Martin and now Stokes all had lengthy injuries.

you sound like a parent scolding a 4 year old. This season has seen progress made. It took Jimmy Hill 2 and a half years to get us out of division 3 in the sixties. That from a position much stronger than the one TM finds himself in. No doubt JH would be taking stick from people on here for not achieving promotion straight away. I have really enjoyed this season. That includes the last two away games I have been to, Shrewsbury and last night. On both of these occasions the team were given a standing ovation at the end, a) because they ran their socks off and b) because their performances warrented much more than the results they ended up with. TM tries to play fast, exciting attacking football. There was more excitment in that match last night than the whole of Pressley's tenure last season. Yes, we are going to have to build again next season. I am sure it will be like starting all over again. However, there does seem to be a plan. It does look like they are trying to build and build early, and with our own players. It does look like the Maddison money is being reinvested. Time will tell, but to me it does look like Anderson is trying to do the right thing. He seems to have a strategy to move forward. (Doesn't mean I like or trust Sisu). Look what TM has done this season, and the hope he has given. He is not a miracle worker, no manager ( apart from JH maybe) is. His "failures" at Middlesborough are constantly brought up to show that he is a bottler. Clough failed at Leeds and Brighton, Shankley at Huddersfield. Both went on to have amazing success. What he needs is time and support from the club. I am sick of the hire and fire policy, revolving door managers are in and out with no time or chance of succeeding at our club. We have had 12 managers in the 14 years since relegation from the top flight. Our current position is where that policy has got us. Some on here seem to think we should just carry on doing the same old thing. In my view, the club need to stick by TM, not be swayed by dips in results, keep a long term vision in mind and stick to it. As Anderson said at the Trust forum, constantly changing managers doesn't work. We have a good one ( opinion based on having supported this club for 50 years). We need to stick with him and give him a chance.

He hasn't been unlucky with Johnson's injury, he's missed at least half a season for the last 7-8 years. Its his injury that has caused all the problems trying to replace him. We were unlucky with Turner but had he stayed fit, I don't think he'd have stayed beyond his loan spell. Martin, willis and now stokes though.

I understand your views on Thorn, but he did end the run under Bothroyd that was much worse than our current run and had us heading towards relegation.

Another case though where the improvement from a sacking was short lived. Unless we try sacking managers on a monthly basis to try to get a whole season full of "short term bounces", we're going to have to try something different.

Wasn't it Einstein who said that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

Perhaps your final sentence encapsulates the problem that has to be addressed.
