Out of interest when the Banks and House builders crashed in the recession were you thinking of emigrating then? were you on the site bemoaning the state of the economy then?

The economy and shares recovered, as they will again, but it will take time. I am worried, but the over the top analysis and hyperbole in the press and on this site is absolutely ridiculous.

What a fucking idiotic thing to say. But then again it's you saying it so it's more expected than anything else.

The last recession was caused by a worldwide banking crisis. This recession will be caused by bigoted, ignorant, small minded, little Englanders who don't have the intellect to see that they're biting of their noses to spite there faces. You can see the difference I'm sure.

Are you really that intelligent and well informed that you can so easily discount 52% of the population? Please remind me of the definition of bigot.

So a 2011 census has been used to profile that data?
Yep, the census will show things like age and education by region. That would then be matched against the result in each region. So they could say we know x number of people in Coventry are degree educated and we know y number of people voted remain. They can then plot that for each region and bingo, you have the graphical representation.

The worldwide recession was caused by a whole industry (banking) driven by ignorance, arrogance and greed. They hoodwinked the worlds governments and people of all nations...and we are still dealing with the fallout. This referendum is partly due to the failure of governments to control the excesses of the bankers

Oddly enough a leave vote could lead to increased EU regulation of UK banks. At the moment the UK is exempt from the regulations but in place after the crash, leaving the Bank of England solely responsible. However we will now need to make a new agreement with the EU to have any hope of retaining our financial services sector. They could insist on the UK now implementing the EU regulations.

How they will balance that with the Conservative desire to make the UK some sort of tax haven for the super rich I have no idea as they will want less regulation.

So I was a thick xenophobe way back in 2011 then?
I never even realised… :(

Well I do realise that it was 52% of 72% of the eligible to vote population not 52% of the population for starters. So in the intellect and informed stakes I'm already one step ahead of yourself.

I asked you earlier if you think you are better informed on this subject than Ruth Lea? Are you Tony?

UK population 65.1m
Registered voters 46.5m
Turnout 33.5m
Leave 17.4m

So that's 26.7% of the UK population voting leave

Bonus stat for you. Who our next Prime Minister is will be voted on by 0.2% of the population. The winner only needs to get votes from 0.12% of the population.

Is Ruth Lea better informed on this subject than the likes of George Akerlof, Christopher Pissarides, Peter Diamond, Eric Maskin, Kenneth Arrow, Jean Tirol, Angus Deaton, James Heckman, James Mirrlees & Robert Solow?

Based on the lies that the leave campaign are already starting to come clean on with very little pushing. Reason enough for a second referendum on its own. Bregretters are coming out the wood work all over the place.

Indeed, 24.8% against 26.7%. Very close, comes down to 1.9% of the population.

73.26% of the population didn't put an X in the Leave box.

You sound like a pathetic child who has had his toys taken off him.
No wonder you got so prickly about North Korea - it sounds like you want to destroy democracy and the will of the people. Emigrate there Tony I am sure you will be better off

Isnt he the guy who said the Euro is a basket case and should be dismantled?
He's the macroeconomics guy isn't he? Opponent of austerity who thinks the Euro needs to be reformed and possibly split into two regions along with more control passing to the ECB.

He's a guy who has a Nobel prize for economics. Still I'm sure the TV personality, sorry, highly respected UK economist you're falling over knows more than him. That's before we even get to the list that chief Dave put up.

What next? Will you be taking advice from Ant and Dec?

An economist who was given the Nobel Prize for Economic Science in 2015 for his work on consumption, poverty and welfare.

Oh the guy who said the increasing immigration will destabilise Europe - that guy?

What is he respected for - keeping his views for a year and then changing his mind?

I think he said the increasing refugee crisis not increasing immigration.

LOL - the gift truly keeps giving. Tony, if you had to find someone to support you in an argument on Child Welfare you'd bring up the McCanns - it's hilarious

I presume you are referring to when he said the high level of refugees entering Europe following so soon after the crash could destabilise Europe in the short term.

Are you suggesting that as a result of leaving the EU we will now refuse to take non-EU refugees?

How is that going to work in practice as the border control will now be in the UK and therefore they can claim asylum.
