Apathy is dead right. Someone gets off their backside to make an effort and do something that they believe is in the long term best interests of the club, and people just cannot be bothered. I realise that people have differing opinions of the best way of protesting, but you can bet your bottom dollar that virtually all of the crowd that does turn up on saturday, despite wanting SISU out, will have made no effort whatsoever.

To be honest it shows that the club is in disarray from the bottom to the top.

SISU have been very poor on a number of counts but supporters have to also accept a degree of responsibility. The club is running at a loss partly as a result of the pathetic levels of support it has received over many, many years. If there is a bandwagon on the roll everyone in the area "has always loved Cov". Once it derails most jump ship never to return (until another bandwagon turns up). We are what we are and we get what we deserve mainly because people who love the club so much they never attend.

A while ago i suggested that thing that the swedish clubs did - basically everyone in the stadium remained silent for 15 minutes. That'd be a bit weird but it'd be different - and difficult. Maybe everyone could turn their backs on the game for 15 minutes? i dunno.

Hitting SISU in their other businesses would work as well. Sponsors, Partners, etc...hounding them so they know what they've done to the club might help, keep targeting the national press.

Tragically this is spot on and whilst i totally support the protest the piss poor support this club receives given its catchment area is the true root cause of why we are sinking to league 1...

you look at the Blackburn protest and whilst i do not agree with their treatment of Kean, they are very worried that they will be relegated and not return to the prem..

Looking at us, a lot of poeple have lost the fight, years and years of "nothingness" has resulted in apathy, and i can completely see why some people wont protest as Championship / League One, its all the same

Having said this, I am firmily in the camp that you vote with your feet, if this was a retail business, it would have gone under months ago, poor experience, poor product, not worth the entrance....

I will not set foot in the Ricoh again until they are gone...

Will still support the lads away from home, but my £600 + a year is not going into their pockets - SISU OUT !!!!

Relegation means less fans but there will be 8,000 or so that will always go (probably me included). So they will model the product to stay revenue neutral around that revenue. Reduced revenue will not necessarily see added urgency to leave just more erosion.

Why would I still go? As a fan I just will. I think historically owners have been just as bad -- mid 70's, early 80's were desparate. If they do go will the gates swell? I doubt it.

Er....that's the point. It is to do with potential support. Ipswich, Forest, Norwich all get 25,000 plus regardless of league position. We get 14,000 regardless of ours and complain we are not contenders. We are contenders -- for the most apathetic fan base of any year you care to mention (expect 1987 of course)

Easy they have a lower potential fan-base. My point is we are the 8th biggest city in the country but actually get half the support of a club like Ipswich whose population is less than 50% of ours. It has zilch to do with league position. Why do you think Forest and Norwich averaged 20,000 plus in their relegation seasons.

Point is for some SISU is now a convenient excuse. They won't go anyway (depends if we get Man U next round though)

As for the size of the city, I always think this argument is slightly floored. The size of the city is different to the size of the urban area, the coventry urban area is relatively small, about half the size of nottinghams urban area.

We really are where we deserve to be and excuses like transport, pricing and quality are merely excuses banded about by one of the most apathetic footballing cities in the country.

I live in Nottingham (a smaller city than Cov) and im constantly embarassed that this city can pull minimum 30,000 combined fans for county and forest despite often poor league positions and quality. In the long run you know the clubs like forest and leeds with passionate supporters will ultimately always have more money and success as people in their cities actually give a shit
