Did Sisu appeal? (12 Viewers)

It doesn't matter about global companies. It matters how much they're willing to pay. Your chairman of CCFC, Alsop offer you £3m for 3 seasons or Land Rover offer you £2.25m for 3 seasons. As chairman, who would you pick?

If we have a bigger fan base than surely we're a bigger marketing pull as there is more people to target the marketing at. As Grendel has mentioned Land Rover haven't sponsored Wasps because they have massive marketing appeal. It's because of the sport and location, I put the link up.

They get publicity every time we play at home. BBC final score and soccer saturday. The name of the stadium is mentioned at least 23 times a year. Have Ricoh had any bad publicity? No, they have just had their company name in the news more.

First point you choose Allsop. In reality you will be choosing Land Rover as they will be the ones paying the most out of the two.

2nd point we have bigger fan base. (Potential). We were a bigger club than Wasps. We have more dormant fans. More of those fans who follow Wasps on Twitter buy their merchandise and attend their games. They get more television coverage than CCFC unfortunately.
This season 8000-9000 of those twitter followers will be actually going to watch Cov.
I am genuinely surprised that I need to debate whether in the current situation Wasps have a greater marketing pull than CCFC.

Publicity sorry it was bad for Ricoh....
Ricoh Arena sponsors hope to see Coventry City return to the stadium

Lastly it's not just Land Rover it's a multitude of companies who are bigger than Allsop.
Why have non of these companies sponsored CCFC instead if we are such a marketing gem?

How much do Land Rover pay?

Will take it on the chin when I am wrong, but on this particular small point, I am still right.
They did start out in Dubai.
However they are still a local estate agent who have also done well in Dubai.
As an estate agent they only do locally around here (C&W) hence the term local estate agent.

Kiss my ass Hillmeister

They are an estate agency founded in Dubai who branched out into the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
I'm sure they wouldn't call themselves a local estate agent who have "Also done well in Dubai" Dubai is the main bit.

I win

Regarding Wasps and the Land Rover deal. CRFC were sponsored by them first, does that mean they have more marketing pull than both CCFC and Wasps by your logic Dongo?

Also although the blurb uses sponsor the actual word is "partner"

Sorry? Given dongles narratives take half a day to digest why are you claiming I am tedious?
You come on here giving it to people that say I've heard something but can't tell you yet. You give it to people that think they know something, but need to make sure first. But that's ok isn't it Grendel because you know fucking everything. So tell us who pays what and while we are at it can you catagorically confirm that JLR or one of its companies will not be ground sponsors of the Ricoh within the next few years

Wasn't it Dongo telling people who pays more?

So Wasps club partners

Land Rover
Under Armour
Lear Corp
Ricoh
DS Smith
EMC

Ours

Allsop and Allsop
Andrew Whiting
Midrepro.

Now maybe I am widely off the mark here but I see a bit of an imbalance in these lists

Even more so when you don't list them all ;)

Lear sponsored seats at the Ricoh for years and DSS like Land Rover are involved in rugby promotion.

He doesn't know everything. He didn't know Wasps were coming, laughed at the idea, despite being a top honcho at Land Rover.

Ah yes, even with that I still think the two list show a stark contrast.
Do you believe as things currently stand we have a bigger marketing pull than Wasps?

I was pointing out you missed them out.

I guess it depends on the company who wants to market something and their target audience. To get a better idea should probably look for Wasps pre Ricoh to see the sponsorship list where there aren't ones picked up by default.

2013/2014 Wasps were sponsored by CVS business rates before they moved on their shirts.

I have no idea who is paying what.

We were also not moving to Northampton. That was a mere bluff.
The owners were right to not agree a deal with ACL. As the Ricoh was a white elephant no one else would want so you may as well make ACL bust and pick it up for nothing.
We should stay at Northampton till ACL go bust.
SISU will win the legal action. SISU should do the legal action it won't harm the club. SISU never wanted to win the legal
Wasps are not affected by the legal action.
The list is endless and priceless to be fair.
The only bloke on this web site who actually does seem to know something about what is going on us Italia.

I would be very surprised if Allsop pay more than £125k a season.
I know very well the going rate having sponsored Rotherham in the Championship last season and this coming season in League 1. If you factor in the "SISU poison element" and the fact we did not have an incumbent sponsor when Allsop took over, it could be less.

I am talking about Wasps of today who are trying to be the Richest club in Europe and unfortunately own ACL and all the marketing that comes with it.
Not Wasps of old.

I am surprised you think a 4th division football club. Renting it's stadium of which it has no agreement on beyond next summer.
Who have been on consecutive decline. Playing in front of crowds probably of 8k next year. Have more marketing pull than a Rugby club who are probably one of the best 2-3 in the country.
Who play at the top level in Europe and average crowds of 20k (guess)

I genuinely assumed it would just be a fact accepted by everyone that Wasps have more pull at the moment.
Clearly not

What was the situation when Allsop took over?
