Why the hell are people having a go at Otis on this thread?!?

Enough of us have been around long enough to know that Otis is one of the more positive people around when it comes to CCFC. Terrible 'jokes', but positive, nonetheless.

What he's said hasn't even been remotely controversial, either!

Here here.

There's a lot of this going on a the minute, multiple posters ganging up on people.

Otis, along with a lot of other people including myself are skeptical and in the "believe it when I see it" camp. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Otis said in very clear quotes where he had been shown to have made things up, you dismissed them as being comparable to Robins saying he is working with strikers remember?

As for being the saviour of the club and making sure it survives. Are you saying that out of sheer hope?
I am an optimist and I am stating something that has not changed. I want these despicable owners gone( acknowledged that they pay the bills and have kept the business running)
I want new owners who are committed to my city and my club and i want owners who actually give a shit about the supporters and show it by engaging them and are prepared to ensure we stay in Coventry at the Ricoh and if necessary in our stadium within the city or close by.
In the eighties I used to travel to games from London with Hoffman, Strange, Brown among many others and I know first hand that these guys are not in love with Coventry City PLC, they love CCFC as much as I do.

The thing is though, nobody disputes things like that and would welcome new owners in and will change everything around.

People are more than likely cynical because they want it to happen, I know I am. They will want to feel confident and get behind it and think "this is really happening now" and get excited.

However, they won't when there are massive holes in the story. Things that have been clearly made up. They will ask questions about it, they will want to be re-assured. They will want to know themselves this is the real deal this time.

If somebody walked up to me in the street and said "heres a million quid, take it". I'd ask lots of questions about it, others would grab and run thinking they had hit the jackpot. If I was to believe everything straight off because I wanted to, rather than looking into it then I'd be getting rinsed left right and centre.

I'd more than love to be proven wrong about it and I have said over and over I'd be glad to eat the humble pie.

It was stated to me that the best case scenario for a sale from now on is NOPM being adopted by more fans, the team free falling and just staying up and Sisu not securing a deal for the ground.
In other words my club becomes decimated and the conditions for a sale become undeniably positive for a buyer.
Never in a million years would I support that strategy because it distressed CCFC.

Again it's the same thing.

I constantly ask to be convinced about that. I never have been, it's usually "stop defending SISU, you must be happy with SISU" that I get as a reason I should agree. Which is why I pointed out how it was a tired point when you tried it.

Where have I seen that before???..........We're ALL sceptical, but some act like old fishermens wives. I don't agree with a lot of what riyadhskyblue says, but on this one I'm 100% behind him. Otis, the comedian and all round good guy(Not because of what he thinks or has been told) puts himself in a different light by willing to discuss in a PM "Tittle Tattle" with all and sundry.

And as I said I am asking someone's position on Sisu.
I didn't like that fans went to Sixfields and I didn't because I lived in Moscow at that time and went to see Cov Rugby when at home but I couldn't ask fans not to do something they had done all lives nor condemn them for it.
I get that some are not so dismissive of the owners and just want to watch football. I wish that was the case for all of us.

In one breath claim someone had told him something, but won't say what it is on a open forum, but will get down and dirty in a PM. Gone down a massive amount in my reckoning for simply making that statement. Hence him not replying to my post! We all hear one thing or another in everyday life, but have our own conscience wether to/not to spread gossip. Otis obviously has no conscience to even contemplate discussing to all and sundry in a PM..... Now! tell me I'm wrong!

It's not getting down and dirty though, SBK. I have said myself I don't know whether to believe it and I have had this information now for a week and deliberately set out not to divulge it. Things are getting so silly on here though, incredibly so and it's just not sinking in with people. It's as if the only two things we should focus on is that he is a City supporter with money.

He said he was in talks with Hornby, he wasn't. He said his wealth manager was in talks with Hornby, he wasn't. He said things were down the line, they were. He said following the discussions he knew how much Sisu wanted for the club and that he could more than match it. He said he could buy the club outright. He then said he couldn't.

I have just walked the dog, SBT. That is the reason for my not replying. Don't get all conspiracy theory on me .... and yes, I do have witnesses. Copthorne Park, 10.50 to 11.40. Walked with a lady called Michelle, who has black cockapoo called Toby.

All and sundry? I told Nick when I was told and said I was going to keep it private. That was just over a week ago. Since then I have told just one other person who asked. I am obviously not going to tell it to all and sundry. If I was going to do that I might as well just put it up here.

The person who told me didn't tell me to keep it secret. They just said to not say where I heard it.

To be honest, I have my own reasons for questionning Otis.

It was the 2nd April, 2017. I had a few friends from ‘oop North’ who fancied a day out in London. They all fancied a few drinks so none of them volunteered to be designated driver.

No issues with that I hear you say. Apart from the fact that some wally had bought pretty much every available train ticket to London that day. Never forgotten.

Anyway, I’m off to hack my way round a golf course for 4 hrs. Looking forward to updates this evening.

Oh Otis, what a c**t you turned out to be.
You just can't give the guy a break.

I have to say despite his weird obsession with the city centre and jokes even Les Dennis wouldn’t use he is about the most in offensive regular poster on here

That is so out of order really.

I have got an obsession with the city centre, it's true and I know it's not great, but I passionately want it to be. It's just the Cov kid in me.

I have no excuses on the Les Dennis front.

You would have to understand why some would doubt stuff he comes out with. Doesn't of course mean that this abuse thing isn't true, but he has been on the radio and talked of stuff that simply hasn't happened. I'm sure that as a result of that some people are not going to just accept anything that comes out of his mouth.

It's a bit the boy who cried wolf isn't it. If this is all true it's terrible, but I can fully understand if people were skeptical of what he has now said.
Your incessant...give it a break dude.

Why do people always seem to jump in with random stuff without reading the thread?

Why not just prove what Otis is saying is wrong? He is posting actual quotes, things the guy actually said, his words. Things that have turned out to have actually never happened.....

Some people seem to be behaving very strangely with it all, should we put it down to sheer hope?

Remember some clowns wanted Dhinsa. One on here even believed the chancer Haskell was interested in buying the club.

Those who have backed me since day one, and you all know whom you are I'm forever grateful but this is really becoming too much with all the lies, deceptive comments and mistrust I've gotten from yes some admittedly some myself but most of which is completely unjustifiable. Utterly had enough tonight.
Instead of ranting he should explain the huge inconsistencies in his story. If he did that and his story was believable I'm sure 99% of the fanbase would be right behind him backing him all the way.

It seems like because he probably does have the money you can no longer question him. Even though his story has more holes in it than an episode of hollyoaks.

I'm firmly in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp, but a week ago before Hoffman made his statement I was in the "This is bollocks" camp.

Or he could just play the "fans have now stopped me from saving the club" approach. ;)

I

Yes over and over, we get his messege. Not drowning a complete thread.

Why is it being repeated over and over? It's seemingly because people struggle to process such a basic thing and deny it ever happened or put it down as him being a bit excited.

Surely it's quite important on whether we should believe something or not, whether out of 2 of his interviews he has massively contradicted himself to the point it is shown to be made up? I'd say that's more telling than believing him just because he is a city fan.

But I would say that people are now focusing on the meetings and agreements and takeover dates rather than the money aren't they?

Don't see many people now questioning his wealth. It's more to do with claims about meetings that haven't happened and agreements the club know nothing about.

Move on.

Exactly. It was questioned and I like others am happy to move on, but some on here keep incessantly asking 'why don't you believe him?' And uttering things like 'cut him some slack!'

It's others who can't move on I would say. I have said on here he should just now leave it in the hands of Hoffman and stop chatting on social media about it.

Move on? Most definitely!! Please do!

Yeah that's my point Otis. It's like all the other guff that has gone before is suddenly unquestionable because he probably has the cash.

I'm trying to agree with you here help me out!

Also after Hoffman gives an interview in the local paper and questions his use of social media he still comes out with a sob story of X factor proportions on Facebook. He needs to just leave the Facebook stuff completely. Until something has been achieved.
