What is the point in playing with wing backs if all they do is hoof it or play backwards?

Grimmer has got forward in to better positions and been more involved but neither have really been in regular good enough positions to hit crosses into the box.

Two diabolical teams playing diabolical football in a diabolical atmosphere.

One of the worst games I’ve been to. We’re losing to a park team. We’re a park team.

Fucking hoof over Beavon's head again.

Beavon is dire. He’s movement is slow his body strength poor and he’s always offside. Robins really has to look at himself for giving this guy an extended deal.

Give it a rest, you were like this in the Lincoln game then vanished.
I wasn't like that for the Lincoln game ... and I agree with him ... if we get the 'investment' that we get normally from SISU in Jan, we aren't going anywhere this season and we know this first chance of going up is our only one really of any significance, as by year two ... we will just settle in for the long haul of 2nd league footie ...

City bright first 15/20 then woeful. Crawley are v v poor but we down at their level. Simple goal to concede...defence all over the place. I would bring biamou on at once.

Why did you want him in the team ?

I didn’t. We have no options. He’s probably our highest paid forward and he’s fifth choice - his performance was lamentable.

So, so annoying. Crawley looked completely disinterested, but here we are a goal down again.

You have to take your chances when you can and make the right decisions. Nazon had the ball early on and McNulty was free in space and had a clear run in on goal, but Nazon decided to blaze the ball over instead.. Then, twice McNulty had the ball in or just around the penalty area and decided to everyone's bemusement to try and dribble his way through.
We started brightly, but quickly ran out of ideas and for the most part the wingback system isn't working because Grimmer and Haynes aren't threatening anything like nearly enough. Grimmer is having no joy against their fullback and Haynes keeps staying too deep.

Best player Shipley. Beavon had done okay, but it is all a bit too clueless.

My observations:
We still haven't had a midfielder run beyond the strikers. Thought Shipley would do it but he's clearly been shackled like Kelly has been.
Doyle's chips at the heads of Beavon are making him look worse than he really is.
Nazon needs a bollocking for ignoring McNulty who he could have simply slid clean through twice and then it's a different game.
Grimmer's fault for not marking his man for the goal but Willis would have cut out that pull back if he was marking his man but once again ball watching and drifting nowhere towards the ball.
Haynes is so deep we are almost still playing a back 4 and it's pulling the forwards out of shape a bit as they drift into the space.

Come on City, turn it round second half. If we can't beat Crawley home we mifht as well pack it in altogether and join the circus....oh wait, we're run by clowns already!!

Should continuing home performances like this cost Mark Robins his job ?

One thing he can’t keep doing in games like this is play Doyle. He’s not needed as there’s no opposition play through the middle. His passing ratio is dreadful. Yes in some games he has his uses but games like this he’s an abject liability.

Should be 2-0 up and coasting. Nazon guilty for me today, McNulty in the clear twice with just the keeper to beat.

Invite our our troubles we do. Playing too predictable always down the right, Doyle needs to get in the game and release Haynes who's found space occasionally.

Another frustrating 45 at home. We started well and looked better offensively than we have for a while, then we don’t score so went defensive and concede from their first real phase in the game.

Overreaction I know, but MR really needs to step up. We have one of the strongest squads in the league but repeatedly play awful and, more importantly, unsuccessful football at Home.

On paper it looked good today, but in reality Beavon is playing a lone striker, which he proved last season he can’t do and McNulty/Duck are sort of positionless. We then insist on playing hoofbsll to those three.

If we want to play that way then Biamou needs to be the main striker with the other two running off him.

Grimmer and Haynes also need to push forward more, Robins’ persistent cautiousness is costing us at home.

Crawley are the worst side I’ve seen at the Ricoh this season and we’re still managing to lose.

Absolutely. They didn’t even play for the draw early on they were that bad. But grew into the game when they realised we were equally poor.

Completely our fault to keep getting caught offside though.

Crawley are awful, bit they are winning.

As the tactic seems to be to play the high ball up to Beavon you have to wonder why we didn't play Biamou instead of Beavon. It makes no sense.

Do you think that with no Kelly we'd be too lightweight without Doyle?
