I voted leave not for benefits to this country in 2019 or 2029 for that matter but to begin a process that will one day be able to protect us from the spiralling and burgeoning world population that will overwhelm this little island if measures are not introduced soon. There has to be an end to the cycle of wanton destruction of the landscape for housing and infrastructure sooner or later. Mankind in general has to start to rein itself in before we've passed the point of no return with the environment we live in. Controls on immigration is just the beginning for me, we need incentives for people to procreate responsibly and look after their elder relatives themselves more in the future.

Most people are unable to afford the facilities or room their houses to take care of their parents. Also, most people need to work and are unable to stay at home and care for loved ones.it's a nice though, but impractical in this country.

Whatever Tony. I am talking about the way they're going about it, it still remains to be seen whether or not what they're doing is right but the signs are not good.

The signs are increasingly concerning, especially as Davis had no idea how the EU worked. I still maintain that the whole process has been rushed and there was little or no plan in place and there doesn't appear there is at the moment either.

You’ve already said it doesn’t represent you. Clearly you already think it hasn’t paid off.
You can't look constantly at the good side of what you want and the bad side of what you don't want and get the full picture.

There is good and bad about staying in the EU and there is good and bad about leaving. And you can only guess how good or bad it is going to be for us leaving.

Incidentally they want a deal like the rest of UK. We have have the same deal. They are being lectured about by Irish policticans when their own government is about to collapse. They want to look closer to home before ordering NI around.

So basically you didn’t know what you voted for. You were voting blind.

No, he's just braver than you.

There are so many people that voted remain because they were pussies and cowered to threats made by the government and mainstream media.

The reality is, both votes were a stab in the dark. Remain being the safer and also in some cases, the more cowardly option. Although now we are seeing it isn't so much the status quo as many thought (not that it would ever be admitted).

That's also what part of the not accepting the result is all about. Envy and jealousy towards those that had the courage to try and make a difference.

The abuse for the last few pages has been pretty one way again, so I can't wait for the shock horror reaction this post gets. The above is the same kind of insulting and offensive shit leave voters have been subject to for well over a year.

Suck it up, buttercup.

Of course there wasn't a plan in place. They never expected to lose the referendum. Voting out was deemed the wrong answer.

Some of course, expect that people shouldn't have voted leave for this reason... I think personally this is another reason people did vote leave. A few protest votes if you like...

There’s a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Fernando crossed it. Nothing brave about what he did.

Did you ever get a reply from the welsh branch of the EU Commission Tony?

Trying to be smart again by making things up. You know every time you say it it doesn’t make it look more likely that I actually said it. It just makes you look more stupid (if that’s possible) than it did the last time you pretended it was the truth.

Their government is not going to fall. All parties in Ireland are on the same page regarding the border.

Now a conservative MEP has suggested a referendum on the border issue. Whether NI should stay in the SM and CI. You no doubt will be in favour of this democratic idea.

Good grief. Here we go. They can have a referendum if they like. Although word of caution it’s a bit like France having a referendum having vote on Catalan independence.

Why not let the Northern Irish British people decide and their mps?

They are a very proud to be British and that’s why they want the same as the rest of the UK.

I have been called a wanker, buffoon, fucking prick, utterly bonkers etc etc for daring to point out that the whole thing is not going as smoothly as promised. I find that insulting, but it is not cowardly for me or others to stand up to these keyboard warriors and continue to call them to account.

They then have the cheek to portray themselves as victims whilst posting Breitbart propaganda.

Poor white Nationalist Christians.

I am neither envious nor jealous of people making an ill informed choice and then complaining that it is remainers in the government that are screwing Brexit up.

Much of what is happening was pretty obvious to anyone who cared to look past the immigration figures.

The DUP are on slippy ground here. I only have my own large Protestant family to go by (we’ll that and Northern Ireland voting remain) but it’s my experience they’re not representing their audience here. There’s no hunger amongst my family to see the border change. The DUP could be slitting their own throats here to play politics.

Yes. A NI referendum- including the proud catholic republicans.

You're probably more on the ball about this than me, but I also get the impression there is no desire for a hard border from any side.
Another good reason to ensure we leave the EU with a deal.

How on earth do you compare France and Catalonia? That analogy would be like Great Britain voting leave, NI voting remain, and Britain expecting NI to leave with Britain.

Tony, you said "You said the European Commission for Wales". I remember it well.

It discredits your attempts to defend European institutions to be honest

In the explanation of what Tony was referring to:

„David Hughes, head of the European Commission's office in Wales, said: "There is no formal investigation into state aid subsidies into any UK sporting club.“

I think commission‘s office in Wales is what Tony meant.

Is that all you and Grendel have got on Tony? He has been wiping the floor with you on this thread. Several people here have either proved they didn’t- and still don’t- know what they voted for, or, like yourself, have admitted that they didn’t know any of the details.

And you just split hairs.

In the meantime our useless government is stumbling around unprepared and divided into negotiations.

Tony is a clueless buffoon who used to worship Farage. You and Tony are well suited.

I know exactly what I voted for. Tony is the only poster on here whose acknowledged he voted for a party led by Nigel Farage.

He’s a dribbling moron

I can see why you admire him

Still a possibility Tony, unlike half the drivel you have come out with

Not if Norway has anything to do with it. They’ve openly said that they don’t want us because we’re too big and it would shift the balance.

Would EFTA membership allow us to negotiate our own trade deals or would we have to negotiate trade deals with EFTA as an EFTA member?

What contribution would we have to make to the EU as a member of EFTA?

Would we have to adapt EU law as an EFTA member?

Would we be a member of the schengen area as an EFTA member?

Would we have to accept free movement of people with the EU as an EFTA member?

Because most people who voted leave didn’t vote for these things. How palatable will many in the leave camp with these issues as EFTA members?

It’s that long ago I honestly couldn’t say what I did or didn’t mean. However plausible you’re explanation sounds. Either way I have no problem admitting I was wrong. I’m at least big enough to do that. Whatever else I might be. Unlike the pair of clowns who bring it up who somehow think that single issue proves I’m wrong on everything. If anything it proves they’re wrong on what was originally being discussed and not being big enough to admit it they bring that up instead.

Yes. Did that remind you of your schooldays when the teachers lost you?

I was trying to see what you meant. France = „big EU country“ determining fate of Catalonia = „small EU region“?

Can you explain what you actually meant - assuming I haven’t got it right?

What were you on about proud British and their MPs in NI determining the fate of NI in the border question? You forgot the other half of the population. The not proud British who also deserve a vote.

The same as you don’t get that 48% voted remain and that remainers are now slightly in the majority.

Certainly in the border counties and towns there’s no hunger for anything to change regards the border. It’s actually something Protestants and Catholics are united on in my experience. I mentioned some time ago I have family who now have an Irish passport. Something unthinkable not that long ago but they feel that they need to prepare for every eventuality given the uncertainty and if you work in the south which most of my cousins and they’re children do it’s a sensible thing to do.
