The Civil Service pension changed to career average I think under the Labour government!
In 2007, one of Blairs last acts. Local Government schemes became career average before that and the NHS scheme not too long after. Very few people left in a final salary scheme. I've got a few years in the final salary scheme but that is effectively now frozen and the rest of the pot is based on career averages. Not that it matter as in all liklihood i am about to piss it all away shortly by dropping to a nothingy part time job somewhere

Was it that long ago? I thought it was towards the end of that government, though various governments had been at CS terms and conditions before austerity was even a glit in the banksters eyes!

The BBC....,.just shut the fuck up all the time with your hideous left wing agenda !! They should be relaying news like they used to without such an obvious political agenda ! I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to fund the twats by law !

Here’s the thing.

Go on left wing sites and the BBC is a pro Brexit, pro austerity, climate change denying far right mouthpiece.

Go on right wing sites and it’s cultural Marxist, liberal, lefty propaganda machine.

So the problem probably isn’t the BBC.

It’s probably a load of people used to their bubbles not liking hearing opposing views.

Facts are that right wing politics gets far more representation than left. There’s loads of studies that prove this.

Well I consider myself fairly conservative and traditional of thought and politics but do believe in a fair and just society but not right wing and all I see from the BBC is a programme of thought controlling, politically biased load of left wing slanted drivel .

That people on both sides think the BBC is weighted against them shows that they're probably doing a good job.
Yeah, exactly.

If I said it lent in any direction I would say probably to the right, so there you go.

I honestly see no left wing bias at all and when Labour politicians on BBC Breakfast, they don't half rip into them

I think the Beeb (royal family apart) are pretty balanced.

I agree it's possible to see it from both sides but I've never seen full out propaganda in my lifetime before as witnessed through the Russophobic Skripal related content.
Although on that one it has been media wide.
I'm not sure I will ever look on the MSM in the same way ever again .

There was a headline on the BBC website earlier about Coventry being twinned with Volgograd but by the time I clicked on it it had totally disappeared. It's as if the media are under orders to say nothing but bad things about Russia.

Back on to the car theme, there is a very worrying trend happening.

Dismissed it the first couple of times as driver error, but it has just happened for a third time this morning. Too much of a coincidence now.

This is drivers driving over red lights and I am not talking about lights that have just turned to red, I am talking about red lights that are sitting on red and have been on red for some time and maybe even as long as 10-15 seconds.

Happened at the Foleshill Road/ring road roundabout and seemingly some drivers are still just treating it as a roundabout and ignoring the red lights completely.

The one this morning, the lights had changed to red as we approached. It was sitting on red and it must have been 8 seconds or so on red and the cars with right of way were working their way round the roundabout and a driver behind me just sailed past and straight over the red light because there was a gap in the traffic that had the right of way.

It is a very, very dangerous and worrying development.

We already have cars chancing their luck on lights that have just turned red, but if they are now just ignoring red lights completely, no matter how long they have been sitting on red, that is really scary.

I had somebody beep their horn at me yesterday because I went on a roundabout, they were coming from the junction on my left (there was nobody on the right). They went mental at me.

Whilst we're on about Islands, People have a habit of blocking up the Island at Walsgrave triangle every morning trying to get their kids to the Seva school. Drives me mad that they're so blinkered that they have no Idea that them stopping in front of the entrance to an Island means nobody can use it.

I think the extent of the restrictions the BBC and other media operate in is a well kept secret.

The idea the BBC is unbiased is frankly ludicrous, it has more agenda’s than I've had hot dinners.

Banks and their call centres, especially when they use voice recognition.

My bank's just suspended my debit card because they heard the number wrongly to what I was saying. Been forty minutes in a queue now to actually speak to someone.

Wouldn't mind but... all I want to do is give them some money!

Laura Kuenssberg - she's very aggressive - needs somebody to give her a hard time in UK - as Trump did in the US - shes a Jock
I used to think this but she has tamed over the last 12 months .
Either taken some tablets that slow the metalabism or elocution lessons.

Yep. Financial journalist Stacey Herbert said they face more restrictions on what they could report in the UK than in any other country that they visited. She said the UK is the only country where they were specifically told they could not discuss certain subjects. She says that is the reason there is no longer a UK edition of the Keiser Report.

Customer service questionnaires after having made a call to Barclaycard. On a scale of 0 to 10 how happy were you with the service we provide? Press keypad now. 0. Sorry, we did not recognise your answer. Half a dozen failed attempts to register 0 later and I hang up.

and the reverse when the lights go green and the car infront doesn't move as they are dicking about with their phone or getting something out of a bag.
