Ah, you mean assualt then lolStuart Pearce on Talksport just said it was a tackle from 'yesteryear' !!
Oh. England are still shit then? What on earth is going on!? Spain are having a shocker, and Sterling with 2 goals!?
What? You mean there is mileage in that old English long-ball game? Allardyce, Wimbledon...all beat the odds if planned & executed well with it.I loved Pickford's long kick that led to the third goal.
England showing Spain it's goals that count, not possession.
See...it is the flexibility & adaptability that counts for most imoWhilst wanking over long goal kick take time to appreciate how England also play it out from the back
Great to see we woken up to how big nations need to play
What - you're disinterested in England waking up?Too much info thanks..
Instinct is a wonderful thing.Put Sterling in a position like he was for England in Russia, receiving the ball in a static position where he needs to think what to do with the ball, and he's average at best. He has an inconsistent technique and lacks the football brain to play a deeper creative role.
Last night though he played in a similar position to where he plays for Man City, utilising his pace and direct running. In that situation it's instinctive football, instead of deliberate decisions to be made, getting on the end of others cleverness. In that situation he's very good. He will always miss chances, it's in his nature, but his pace when utilised correctly will sldo always creates chance.
Except to gain experience in playing against the best...you need to be in the same league. Imo it is a great idea. They are definitely competetive friendlies rather than either a full blown tournament or an out & out friendlyIts only a big game if you actually give a toss what happens in an unneeded tournament. I\d rather concentrate on getting the players prepared for the Euros and World Cup than getting distracted by this.
Consistency at its finestThe familiar feeling of disappointment
Yeah, agree. It has replaced friendlies with games against much better opposition and added an edge to those 'friendlies'.Nations league has been a success. No 2 ways about it
yup also in league c and d its great to see smaller nations and their fans have a chance to celebrate winsYeah, agree. It has replaced friendlies with games against much better opposition and added an edge to those 'friendlies'.
At least we're safe in the knowledge that Scotland will never get promoted.I think people will really start to get interested in it when the promotion and relegation come to play. If England got relegated you can imagine the Scots giving it loads and then England really wanting to get back up.
They still canAt least we're safe in the knowledge that Scotland will never get promoted.
They can & will...if they sink low enough. Hell - even we did it!At least we're safe in the knowledge that Scotland will never get promoted.
You think that we could soon be facing them in the Checkatrade Trophy? They can & will...if they sink low enough. Hell - even we did it!

ching, ching! Just needs to play now!!Wilson in. Maddison out.
Genius concept the nstions league. I am so excited for englands next game nowRakitić out. That should help things.
Black armbands all round then tomorrow.Huge goal in Rotterdam. Holland are 1-0 up against France. If it stays like that the Germans are relegated.
Still don't quite get the playoffs.Give it up to uefa, we were all confused at the start but this is so much better than meaningless friendlies.
There’s a trophy. The winners of the lower leagues get qualification to the euros and the top leagues win a cup.Still don't quite get the playoffs.
Bottom team relegated and top teams go straight to a semi-final don't they? So what are the play off teams playing off for exactly?

So they end up in the playoffs but they could all theoretically lose?Four teams from each of the four Nations League sections will make up the Euro 2020 playoffs so at least one team from each will eventually qualify, but not necessarily the NL winners.
