Gatwick Drones (11 Viewers)

It is a bit strange, a couple of drones that nobody has really seen causing billions in damages by keeping it closed?

Must be more to it

What are some of them saying?

1.Saudis have a plane hijacked on the tarmac and it’s a media blackout so no negative reporting and drones being used as a smokescreen.
2.Russians have cyber hacked the systems including air traffic control.
3.Its remainers using it as a point of how airports will be after brexit.
4.They (not sure who) are getting as many people into the airport then going to drop a bomb on it.
5. Aliens

2-4 sound plausible.

I keep seeing people on the news, social media etc saying you can't fire into the air to shoot it down so how is clay pigeon shooting a thing?

Guy from Gatwick on the radio when questioned as to why they were slow to react and hadn't they planned any counter measures told the reporter they had got it wrong and that they had been looking at the issue for at least a year. What the hell do they do at these meetings? Surely the scenario which would be discussed would be drone or drones incursion into the airfields so it begs the question - why have you wasted this year ffs! Is it just a talking shop or do you actually come up with anything concrete?!

Yeah, concrete would definitely do it. Smash the thing to smithereens I would have thought if the aim was true enough.

Yeah just rattle bullets across an airport into nearby towns ha ha easy.

If that fails nuke the whole area.
Blunderbuss!

Cannot help bit think this is perhaps someone with ill intent testing the authorities...& to an extent vice-versa. Had this been near Downing St, Westminster or Buck' Palace or similar it would be quickly dealt with. As it is only plebs like me affected it is dealt with differently

I reckon it's Theresa May's husband, as a deflecting tactic.

She needs to have a quick shufty at his Argos statement.

There are very effective scrambler units in use in European airports that easily deal with drones. Britain trailing behind as usual.

Just saw on the Beeb site that the bloke in charge of operations said they expect to be back to normal tomorrow.

However, he did also say, if the drones come back they will have to close the airport again.

As they haven't even identified the culprit, let alone caught them, surely that's quite likely isn't it?

Well when they get them they should wrap them in selotape and push them into departure area with an " i dunnit sign"
