Leading leavers during the build up to the referendum were advocating the EEA option which would mean leaving the EU. Obviously that went out of the window though and the goal posts moved. The way some go on you’d think Leave won by a major landslide. (Not implying you are, I mean in general).

More voters than the cities of Birmingham and Coventry combined was the winning margin.
Take away London, it was an embarrassingly big margin.

The vote wasn’t done based upon constituencies though, was it? And neither would a second one, so not sure why you keep repeating it?

Take away London? It has a huge population; 2 countries of the UK didn’t vote out actually.

No but you can gauge through numbers of people in said constituencies how people voted before to how they would vote again, and even with some swing towards remain, its just hard to see where they can win it overall.

From the 2014 European elections, Brexit Party has absorbed all of the UKIP vote, and a bit more. Probably has taken more Tory than Labour votes but it’s nuanced.

The Lib Dem’s have taken votes off both Tory and Labour voters and Greens (who I voted in 2014) will mostly be current/ex Labour voters.

This election is polarised between no-deal Brexiteers and ‘Final Say’ referendum Remainers. Hence Labour and Conservatives have been punished.
