In all seriousness though it will be interesting to hear what they have to say. First press conference today I believe. Probably just be a launch though at a guess to explain who they are, who is involved, what they hope to achieve etc.

No neither of us have had them back, my wife’s are due today and mine were due on Saturday, I sort of hope I have had it as I woke up this morning pretty fresh after feeling ill for the last few days.

Had news over the weekend an old troubled mate tried to top himself. Can’t work (usually does security at festivals), had a shit year with his dad dying, alcoholic and extremely social, no internet access. This lockdown is his personal nightmare. I feel like shit cos he turned up on my doorstep last week and I had to kick him out because I was worried about infections.

Got a mate over to him to do a video call with all his mates but it’s a poor solution.

My mum (who is 79 and has copd) was really anti shielding herself as she is a people person and my brother and sisters said as an adult she should do what she thinks is appropriate. I was horrified that my mum would put herself at risk and my siblings would be absolutely ok with all this!!

I’m sorry mate that’s tough stuff! One of the things I learned when a friend took his own life was that I couldn’t have stopped him even if I’d spent 24hrs a day 7 days a week. You can do what you can do and no more. Hope they can find some hope in this world and life though

My Dad was the same initially - 65 and with COPD. Wouldn’t stay in and follow advice. Took weeks of trying to get him to stay at home. Took 3 of us to tell him he was being a selfish prick (my sister-in-law is also pregnant) for him to wise up.

Still think he’s not 100% abiding but it’s an improvement.

Also if it's the decentralised version to protect our data being abused centrally , does it negate the ability of the Gov't to collate the relevant stuff to make judgements and forecasts .

All sounds a bit mad to me.....it may have some value if it was limited to alerting people that you've been in contact with someone who has officially tested positive, but just cos I walked past someone who has since had a a bit of a cough.....nah mate.
