Abother good point!!!

Felt we looked comfortable all game long so annoyed to concede but this team doesnt give up and nice strike from hamer!!

I love way we play, so easy on eye.

Some thoughts:

Shipley is a passenger again. He always lets his man get away and is sloppy with even simple passes

Did mcallum have to go off? Goal came from a cross in thay corner. I thought mcallum was v good again though some sloppy mistakes today he needs to cut out

Kelly is playing really well although sometimes he passes like a pub player lol

O hare must sort out his finishing. It is costing us points

Wilson looks so assured. Marosi may have to wait to return at this rate!

Dabo looking kike Dabo of old

Good away point!!!

Is Ohare going to get slaughtered as much as biamou did when he missed 2 sitters. Doubt it.

Ohare is making a habit last few games of missing some glorious chances.

What you're actually saying is we had at any given time 1 player out of position in the back line...

Lads I'm all for playing whatever formation gets results... If it's wingbacks so be it.... But the fact is we shipped a ton of goals... Am I losing my mind here or are people being willfully blind to this

No I don’t think you are losing your mind - But the formation was not the problem in early season - as others have pointed out there were other factors including match fitness, individual errors, no RWB and Kelly out.

We’ve looked by far at our best with 3 at the back in recent games with Dabo and Giles liberated to run at defenders and provide an out ball.

Whatever that moron Grendel thinks we’ve looked awful with 4 at the back and far from defensively stable.

Go and find 3 goals that were specifically to do with our shape.

Honestly, if shape had nothing to do with it... Robins would still be playing ut every week... Wouldn't he?

I'm not about to go on YouTube and analyse the 20 odd goals we've conceded this season.

Once again... I like the system.. But I see its flaws.
We can be countered fast and left exposed on the flanks if the wing backs are forward... We can get overran in midfield.

It was happening

And if I'm not mistaken, Mark Robins now has all the players available to play the system except godden... And he's choosing to not play it as much.... Why?

No I'm just on about 7 in the 3 games before he chose to explore 4 at the back. 2 penalties, 2 from set pieces, 1 from Sheaf giving the ball away, 1 from McCallum being beaten on the right and 1 in stoppage time when we were 3-1 up.

Tell me how it's the formation that caused all of those. Robins saw we were shipping goals and wanted to do something about it. In my view he spent his time on the wrong thing as we're now investing time in something that makes us toothless in attack

Yeah he needs to sort it

But i prefer plays that miss alot to players that dont even get in positions to impact game cough Shipley cough

A teams system is involved with everything... The passages of play, the attacks the defending.. Ok I can move on individual errors.
But conceding penalties and set pieces are all part of the way the game is playing out... And part of the way the game plays out comes down to your system and how you are exposed or are exposing another team ... Full......... Stop

The second half was wave after wave of them coming at us and us returning possession soon after getting it back. When we play that way it needs someone to find killer passes or Walker to work a minor miracle
I agree our passing was poor in the whole game. I honestly didn't see 'wave after wave' of attacks though. What I did see though was a poor defensive game from Dabo. In his his defence, the way he was holding back from tackles suggested to me that he he still isn't fully fit.

Biamou booted the ball down to our half with seconds left to play, O'Hare just waved his arms around defending in the box. Set pieces are nothing to do with formation and entirely down to how the manager chooses to defend them.

And then others continue to ignore that Norwich created hardly anything for most of Saturday's game and even with the injuries put out a much stronger side than Derby did tonight

Why bother it’s pointless. Fact is we’ve stopped a big rot that was developing and that’s that

It did just seem like they were attacking us down the flank every couple of minutes, whether or not a chance eventually came from each phase

If your not constantly under attack you don't give away many set pieces... You can actively avoid conceding so many set pieces by altering your system to nullify attacks ... And to stop conceding so many corners... Another fact

System has more do with results than you are trying to make out

If not then managers should give up and let the lads go out and just have a go

I agree that that was where their main (only) threat was coming from.

I agree with that. All our problems came from their wing play. Happy enough with that as long as Dabo learns enough of the 'black arts' to stop opposing forwards.

He's much better when not given as much defensive responsibility, not that he's poor at that side of the game. McCallum seemed to struggle with it especially

I think there was one 20 seconds into the season
Every match the system plays a role in the outcome...
So why doesn't Norwich count?
Because you harrassed me for about 20 minutes about 3 matches mate lol 🤷 then I start to get into detail about why we conceded so many in those matches and how the system could have effected the games and you switch it to Norwich... What do you want from me... It's football 101... FormAtions ...they effect the way games play out and that's basics surely

Several relatively knowledgeable posters arguing with me that our formation had nothing to do with the goals conceded in them matches... Absolute tosh.. And frankly an argument I wouldn't expect from my 11 year old

You just said we played a flat back 4 in the last 3 games when we haven't

I missed the first half (probably a blessing) but the second half was abject. If you're watching that as a neutral it's your standard two crap teams at the bottom of the league. That's the level we went down to. I didn't think we were "solid" at all, as was being suggested in commentary. All they did was go to the right, and I don't think we stopped a cross coming in from that area. It's pure percentage stuff to expect a goal chance at some stage.

I thought McCallum was awful, but few players did well. Nice goal from Hamer. It took going a goal down and throwing hopeful attacking subs on for the team to show a bit of intensity.

I've honestly no idea what we were trying to do with the ball. Aimlessly passing it around on the edge of our third until we either lost it under the tiniest amount of pressure, or we lost it hitting a longer ball. We even seemed to be timewasting at certain points early on, that's how unambitious the play was. Looked to me like we played for a point and hoped for more, which is fine in an average Championship game. Are they tired, put too much into the Norwich game?

Par result, well below par performance.

Concede goals for fun trying to attack too much and he's vilified , stop conceding go on an unbeaten 4 game run and he's vilified
I'm glad he's in charge and not some of the drama queens on here
You’re right. Before the game a lot of them were saying they would be happy with a point but when we get (earn) the point they’re the first to bitch and complain.

You think the way we are playing is easy on the eye ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s not supposed to be, like I have said before it’s better to be a boring team than an unlucky one. I’m still not convinced about the durability of it though, when we lose a few what happens then?

It essentially relies on conceding no more than 1 a game
