Never got this cliche. How often do you watch a game, see the first goal go in and think ‘that wasn’t important’ .

Under Robins, we’ve barely lost or even dropped points when we’ve scored the first goal. So far, we’ve only picked up 4 points from a losing position (QPR and Norwich).

Last season we were good coming from behind, but that’s more of an exception to the rule.

Objectively, the first goal, more often than not, determines the outcome of the game.

In for a fair bit of rain Saturday which will suit them. Could be an old school slog.

When Wycombe beat Blues there was some serious piss taking at work, just hope it doesn't bite me on the arse.

Often rain means players struggle to get height on punts forward and crosses, which may actually hinder them if they try and play hoofball. We will see ! That Jacobson does have a great left foot though, so as few set pieces and corners conceded as possible, particularly from McCallum's side of the pitch.

Edit add Derby. Make it 5 points.

This season we have gone a goal down in alot of games, and have come back to equalise or go ahead (Watford).

But problem has been we been searching for winner and ended up losing late to Bristol City/Forest/Watford. After equalizing.

With 5 points from losing positions, it makes us one of the best teams in the division, believe it or not. Mind you, we've had plenty of opportunities from deficits, given we've conceded first 10 times!

How would we have done if games stopped at 80 minutes?

Stop Jacobson and you stop their supply. That means don’t give away corners or free kicks near the box.

Easy to say but these refs seem to get a bit star struck around the lump and he gets given most of the 50/50 decisions, every time Leo beats him in the air he will be demanding a free kick.

I'd really like for us to get our first away win of the season from this match. Last season when we won at Wycombe, it was our first away win of the season and served as a catalyst for our promotion winning campaign. While a draw wouldn't necessarily be a bad result considering how Wycombe have been playing as of late, a win against one of the teams around us would help put some distance between us and them. Plus they are on 1 day less of rest which is a bonus. These are games you must try to win as they are against teams of a similar level to us.

9 points off bottom 3 is actually huge as teams at that end average a point a game or thereabouts.

Even a point wpnt be bad. 7 point gap to bottom 3 is fair bit of breathing space. Npt that we getting complacant with task at hand.

Said it before its must not lose game. Fancy us to just shade it though.

Bored so just looked at this for you :)

If like Rugby Union, the ref blew his whistle at the 80min stage, 6 of our league games would have different results.

Bristol City - Draw, they scored in the last 10, we would have gained a point
QPR - Draw, McFadz got our winner on 85, we lose 2 points
Forest - Draw, K Walker with their winner just before the end, another point earned
Middlesboro - Draw, both of Boros goals in the last 10, a point picked up
Watford - Draw, and another point on our stats
Norwich - Lost, Max's equaliser in the 89th would have been wiped so we would have lost a point.

Which would have meant we picked up 1 point in total.

If you include the Carabao Cup, we won against MK Dons with a goal in the last 10 and may not have exited the cup in the next round if the Gills equaliser was cancelled out.

The expert commentators (Clive) always tell us that the third goal is important too. Maybe all even-numbered goals are trivial. Imagine scoring a hattrick only to be told that the second was of no interest to anyone. That's bad man-management right there.

Now do 70 mins

Okay :D

70 Mins, still the 6 games affected.

Bristol C, would have been a draw 1-1 - gained 1 pt
Middlesboro, a 0-0 draw - gained 1 pt
Reading, we were drawing 1-1 at 70 mins - lost 2 pts
Forest, a 1-1 draw - gained 1 pt
Watford, would have ended 2-2 - gained a point
Norwich, we would have lost 1-0 - lost a point

Change in points gained - 1 point for finishing earlier.

And because you asked so nicely, if by some quirk of fate, the Football League said all results were final after 60 mins, 4 games affected (we would have still won vs Reading but by less and a loss to Watford still).

Bristol C would have been a draw
Middlesboro a draw
Forest a draw
Norwich we lost.

Change in points - 2 points to the better.

I'm not doing 45 mins :p

The previous one was interesting and perhaps highlights how some of us focus more on the points we chucked than the ones we saved.

Thanks. I’m just a lazy bastard. Anyone want to volunteer for 45?
