Only 25 million people are expected to get the vaccine next year, so I wouldn't get too excited just yet.
Rapid testing, masks and therapeutic treatments are the key to controlling this, and always have been. But we've all become so fixated with the vaccine that we've been lulled into thinking the pandemic is almost over.
I'm not thinking for one minute it's over but 25 million people is over a third of the population and should cover a large swathe of the vulnerable.
As I said I don't think will be back to normal for a long time but we should start to move out of the current restrictions. I still expect to see masks and social distancing for a good while yet.
