How has Alastair Campbell, a man partly responsible for bullshit documents leading to the Iraq war which killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people ("Come on , you honestly think we won't find something " on WMD), managed to A. Become a spokesman on morals on social media and B. Managed to wangle a part time GIG on good morning Britain?

Fuck me , we really are low balling these days

You can't argue with her point though, the death penalty as a deterrent is well demonstrated by that peaceful utopia the USA
Ahh, the good old US of A. The most incarcerated country in the world. Doesn’t even work as a method of reducing the prison population and thus the burden on the taxpayers. It’s a stupid idea and confirmation of that is the fact that Priti Patel is saying it’s a good idea.

Absokutely thick as two planks.
It would be bad enough if she was just some back bench MP that had somehow ended up being elected. When you think that person is now the Home Secretary you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Shouldn't being forced to resign in disgrace from one government position exclude you from being considered for other positions?

There is a thought that the high incarceration levels are actually deliberate because it's how America remains competitive. Basically it gets used as slave labour.

Their prisons are an industry. They rely on a steady stream of inmates. The documentary The house we live in is staggering and a bit worrying because you know there are wankersin 5he cabinet who would love something similar here.

Darren Grimes is having a bad day

I mean , the lads had death threats and homophobic abuse .

That's not really any better than what people are angry at him for ..infact it's arguably worse .

Just because you don't agree with somebody, it doesn't give you the right to quite literally hound and harass them with abuse and threaten their life .
And here lies the problem with social media , its quite literally accepted and brushed away

This shit needs regulation
Society is eating itself

Let's take also priti Patel, a women who is about as likeable as a box of farts .
People racially abusing her , whilst being annoyed about her not backing their views on how to combat racism.

It's fucking bizarre and yet it's not being called out

I've never personally seen anyone trying to justify the racist abuse she got.
I remember seeing her talking about the abuse she got at school and she was clearly upset, I almost nearly forgot she wasn't human!

But given she's suffered all that it does make you wonder why she's so hateful and lacking in empathy.

And this could be said about many of the people on social media doing the same thing , I don't agree with her , but my instant reaction isn't to go on social media and hound her and harass her .

Social media is so damaging , I absolutely hate it .
So many problems caused

So many people weaponise shite behaviour when it suits them then try and call it out when it suits their agenda.
Then they point the finger at the left or the right depending on their perspective.
Like you I can never imagine abusing someone on line ( apart from the time I got kicked off Twitter for calling Piers Morgan a c**t!)

On a different subject , electric scooters .
As they are becoming increasingly more popular , should they require age restrictions and or a paid annual fee to use .

Part of the reasoning , 5 kids on our street and the street running parallel that I know of have these , all under 12 years old .

They go at I believe 25 /30 MPH and one of the girls fractured her wrist last week whilst falling off one .

Surely the government can't allow these things to just be used willy nilly by quite literally anybody on paths and roads.

Will only get worse as more and more buy them

They can’t be used on public roads can they?

Another case for proper segregated bike lanes. These types of electric personal vehicles are going to get more popular and cheaper and you need something for things too fast for pedestrians and too slow and unprotected for the roads.
Yep never seen a helmet and yet as a kid I was often stopped by police to ask where my helmet was

To be honest I wasn’t on about politics

Someone posted on Twitter that his nickname at school was “craftyw*nk” as he got caught in year 9 playing with himself under the school desk, and Darren Grimes started throwing legal threats at them, which just encouraged more people to pile on him, it was a feeding frenzy.

I really really don’t like Darren Grimes, but doing that to someone on social media, I really really don’t like that either. You can argue he brings it on himself with his views but… well I just don’t like it. Then Brian Moore posted that Grimes “needed a kicking” and had to take it down- he’s a qualified solicitor saying that. It’s open season on social media- no rules and the truth is whatever the last person said or who gets the most likes. It can drive people to suicide, it’s a zoo.

So I come back to the simplest gestures being the most meaningful and powerful- the knee has raised more awareness of one thing than the millions of stupid tweets by both sides ever could. Whether it’s against Rashford or Patel it’s just wrong and without a single tweet our England team have called it out, I’m very proud of them.

Got to admit. Grimes looks like the type to get caught wanking in school. As always it’s his reaction that’s really solidified it. Fuck the racist little shit quite frankly. Hardly death threats is it? Same as Katie Hopkins, you know what you’re doing when you decide to do this grift, no use crying about it afterwards.

TBF He doesn’t do himself any favours. If you look at his Twitter page it’s an advert for anti “cancel” culture. He sees himself as a bastion of the protection of free speech and free will. Then when Rashford misses his penalty he tweets him “penalties not politics”. He literally tweets to promote the cancellation of Marcus Rashfords right to free speech and free will. He needs to practice what he preaches himself before he starts to lecture others and play the victim.

I think this has severely backfired on the Conservatives. My take is that England getting to the final was the worst thing that could have happened to the Conservatives. Too many young woke footballers with their heads screwed on and a platform for the Tories liking. Let’s promote them as a figure of hate and when they get knocked out in the group stage we can start tweeting things like stick to the football, stay out of politics and the Tories win again, get over it.

Also what dickhead on the Tory benches shouted out “he’s a Labour member” while Starmer was quoting Tyrone Mings at PMQ’s? Might as well shouted but he’s black his opinion doesn’t count. c**t, whoever it was.

I don’t think “being nasty” should be illegal no. I’m generally a free speech purist.

Grimes makes his money in the culture war grift, he knows what he’s doing and if he bit off more than he can chew that’s his look out.

Fact remains if he hadn’t made ludicrous threats about getting his lawyers involved this would all have blown over.

Picking out a few racists and homophobes and claiming their the majority opinion and not just life on the internet at scale is just disingenuous.

Jesus you’ve done some head twisting to come to that conclusion. Fact is Grimes was being to Marcus Rashford thinking he was being clever by telling him he doesn’t have the right to do what he complains everyone has the right to do. Why doesn’t Marcus Rashford have the right to a political opinion in Darren Grimes mind?
