I don't think it's complicated at all .

One has a different opinion to you and me ..

I think the abuse aimed at him is wrong , you think he brings it on himself .

That's exactly what's happening here

Which abuse? The abuse he's getting today is hilarious.
If you're talking about homophobia I agree.

It is. It’s also one of humanities greatest inventions.

I have an overarching theory which is that we have a limited number of people we are built to be in contact with (around 150) and after that we have to create generalisations to interact with people.

Genie is out the bottle now. All we can do is learn how to live with it and IMO part of that is not blowing small percentages out of proportion.

Similar arguments to these have existed for years relating to the most popular medium of the day.

I think social media has changed society in a much shorter time than we imagined it would

I don’t think anyone thought too hard about it TBH. And the early internet with its filter for only smart techy people allowed basically gave a false impression of hope for the platform. 90s internet was all utopian and “leaving meatspace” and all that crap. Once the great unwashed came on all hell broke loose.

It's the same thing really is it not
No. Not by a long stretch. At no point did I insinuate that he deserves to be a victim of homophobia or be on the receiving end of death threats. I merely pointed out that he does himself no favours when he sees a missed penalty as an opportunity to promote hate and think he’s being clever at the same time.

When the left lose the argument they can dish out the insults as well as any other. On a show the other day a bloke was being laughed at by a panelist regarding the take tbd knee debate and his intellectual response was to label said panellist a Tory stinking gammon

We really must sack that guy as spokesman of the left.

It was embarrassing and if the other way round would have been leapt on - abusing aggressive and racist

Gammon isn’t racist, having a red face isn’t a race. But yeah he sounds like a dick.

Oh the gammon accusation was aimed at Dominique Samuels

I really don’t like Kier Starmer and although I haven’t made it my business to find out, I have no idea what Labour stand for apart from vague “we shouldn’t be mean to people, and by the way Boris is crap” platitudes. Labour are a waste of time.

Way to write off half of humanities thoughts on economics.
