Can they afford what it would take to buy him? They paid a couple of fees in the summer but doesn't seem like any were close to even £500k.

Balogun on loan from Arsenal could be a nice replacement though.

No idea how either of them passed a medical

I am sure Sherwood the club waived the medical they just wanted to sign him

I’m not joking on this I’m pretty certain McGinnity was advised he’d fail the medical so he just signed him as he wanted a name

I'd be asking for a move if I was him. He's not getting a chance here and even when he did get one, and took it, he was still dropped.
I just think Robins believes Gyo, Godden and Waghorn fit our system of play better, I tend to agree but in fairness to Walker he hasn’t really had an extended run in the team to show what he can do, he’s just a different type of striker.

If we went 3 up top would that suit him better than being in a one or a two?

He's a better long term bet than Godden IMO.

Agree Godden may only have one more season in the championship but IMO Walker will never be championship class. It's a shame because, as other poster stuff have commented, he has attributes but not the all round game that is required.

They did, McGinnity himself told me that!

I'd argue that Walker is better in the air and with his back to goal
Walker seems really poor back to goal

Back to goal is certainly not Godden's strength but he is way better at it than Walker and holding the ball. Has Walker ever scored with his head? Godden does remarkable often. Walker's strength is his finishing and he is quite quick.

If Walker is that good then why is he 4 th choice ?
If the system we play is not suited to his way of playing he become surplus to MRs need .

If they offer 1,000,000 or above its a no brainer as we would have made profit, I like walker its just I dont think Sisu would keep him around if an offer where we make profit comes in, especially if he is going to be 4th choice.

I reckon if he does go, we look at the Prem for a young quick loanee, for example the likes of Aaron Connelly at Brighton, Anthony Elanga of Man utd, Nathan Tella of Southampton, or we go for a player already out on loan such as Hugill (not quick but a good striker) talks of him getting recalled, potentially Ryan Longman on loan at Hull from Brighton (2 goals 2 assists) winger but can play striker and Im sure we could use him at times in AM.

But anyways, its a non-starter as they cant afford it

edit : also our top scorer last season with 8 goals
A Baggies ST mate of mine says Hugill is the worst striker he's ever seen for them. He been following them since the 70's, so he must have seen a few!

He was quality at Preston hit 20+ goals, I suggested him as realistically would be within our bracket and has a point to prove

edit : apologies he hasnt hit 20 goals just double figures a couple times

You obviously don't watch the matches much then

It’s just a goal scorer thing innit? Both will get you 15-20 but neither are much use when not scoring.
I’ve been impressed with Godden’s hold up/build up play this season.
I do think Tyler is potentially a better striker though. He’s been unlucky since he joined us.
