So if someone actually threw acid over a Tory Mp that’s funny - wow

Nice try

I think on the whole punching up/punching down scale of comedy, making jokes about MPs of the ruling British political party isn’t quite comparable to jokes about the Roma community. But you know this.

it’s not a nice try. What was Brands defence and what was the watch dog ruling?

Guess it just depends where the bandwagon is. Both are just Jokes from comedians.

he’s a smug twat but if you ban him and his type then that’s absurd

Jo Brand saying milkshake should be replaced by battery acid for Tory politicians was just as outrageous but Ian I suspect wasn’t complaining
Never even heard that one before. Must have been before my time.

I honestly have no idea old chap, I don’t listen to Jo Brand routines, it’s not 1993.

She said it about 3 years ago 😂

That's the point he's making.

Well I think he’s avoiding the question and oddly the Twitter brigade were not so objecting then and also the outraged MP who also believed Jews are Nazis oddly hasn’t been addressed either

Also the MPs so outraged have made vile anti Jew references and they weren’t doing stand up
Ironically including Sultana

you don't think an apology makes a difference?
So if you make a mistake there's no coming back?

Well saying you wanted to murder the head of the Jewish state is a bit different ti jelly and ice cream

was referring more to Johnsons racist remarks among other stuff, he actually did apologise, disingenuously, for the jelly and ice cream

This is over the top but pretty funny

Don’t particularly find him that funny, but it seems a massive overreaction. Ricky Gervais, Frankie Boyle and many more made just as bad jokes in the past.

Can’t be arsed to read 7 pages of it in this thread but can’t believe this is even a topic. It’s a joke. It wasn’t particularly funny but it was just a joke. Had a small giggle and moved on.

That’s what that type of comedy is - pushing the boundaries. If you don’t like it don’t want it fuck off.

Load of virtue signalling cunts need a life

I didn't really know much of Nadine Dorries before but she's really outed herself as the latest in a long line of fuckwits somehow elevated to power

I still maintain that ‘jokes’ about British people being blown up in terrorist attacks, soldiers being gunned down etc would be met with outrage on here.

You are trying your best for it, I'll give you that.

Some are pretty funny.

Well you’d be hard to make a specific joke on that but Frankie Boyle has made the odd IRA blow up joke

Allport scale - Allport's Scale - Wikipedia

Is where this starts and one can see the steps from a tasteless joke about a race (gypsys) to extermination. Often in hindsight of course

It’s a real challenge as I love humour that oversteps the mark

The contradictions and hypocrisy shown when people challenge it are pretty hilarious too.

I am more concerned about the likes of what Chubby Brown is doing (even though he's not on Netflix) rather than a bad taste Jimmy Carr joke.

Is Chubby Brown really still doing jokes about n*ggers with big lips and Pakistanis smelling? 😳😱
