It’s because it is funny though isn’t it. It’s funny because it’s ridiculous and pushing the boundary. Clearly we are not going to have a great Paralympic team because of the amputees.

Maybe he’s put himself in a position where his brand of comedy - generally being mean/nasty about people - doesn’t really wash anymore? Or maybe the joke just wasn’t funny? I don’t know.

The idea that you can only be offended by something if you are *that* person is absolutely nonsense by the way. If my wife/daughter were to suffer racial abuse, can I not be offended by it because I am white?

Ps I read Whoopi Goldberg’s serious comment about the holocaust over the weekend which might be far more offensive to most than a joke made from a usually offensive comedian rated 18 on Netflix. Again, her freedom of speech, I just hope the internet warriors calling for Carr to be banned and unsubscribing from Netflix, call for her to be sacked…or alternatively just pipe down about both
