Do take into account though Pete that covids obviously really prevalent at the moment, so more people dying with other ailments will obviously have Covid. Covid might have had nothing to do with many of the reported deaths, it’s just noted that they have tested positive in the last 30 days.
I’m sure I heard a figure recently that 50% of those deaths had nothing to do with Covid whatsoever but can’t recall for certain.
That’s not to say we should ignore it but the figures are badly skewed at the moment due to the prevalence. Most people who have been fully jabbed are at negligible risk from Covid
ps another crazy rule/guidance is that operations are delayed until 30 days post positive test…this is crazy, especially with such a backlog. You can imagine the costs involved in the number of cancelled ops. Let’s just shovel more cash into the money pit
