Good to hear people are now on the mend.
I managed to order a set of tests last night at 8:15. Thanks for the link to that Twitter page @chiefddave.If anyone is in the same position as me and needs LFTs for care home visits this twitter account is pretty handy:
they seem to restock at 8pm every night but they're generally gone in a couple of hours. they do randomly become available during the day but 8pm every night so far since I started following that account.I managed to order a set of tests last night at 8:15. Why? It’s still been part of 1000 deaths in the last 7 days. Sure many have just a cold but others it causes significant poorliness and moreMy local comprehensive has gone back to "hybridpart-time learning" sending every year group to "work from home" 1 day per week.......fucking joke.
Why are we still alllowing Covid to fuck up kids lives? Just stop fucking testing FFS.....
You may well beI had a full on argument with my barber yesterday because I coughed twice during my appointment and he got annoyed and said I was endangering him, his family etc.
I mean, come on.
I’ve tested myself daily for the last 5 days since arriving back from the UK.You may well be
That’s good most aren’t. So it was fine for you to say that and would have been out of order for the barber to go on about it.I’ve tested myself daily for the last 5 days since arriving back from the UK.

I completely agree!!Do take into account though Pete that covids obviously really prevalent at the moment, so more people dying with other ailments will obviously have Covid. Covid might have had nothing to do with many of the reported deaths, it’s just noted that they have tested positive in the last 30 days.
I’m sure I heard a figure recently that 50% of those deaths had nothing to do with Covid whatsoever but can’t recall for certain.
That’s not to say we should ignore it but the figures are badly skewed at the moment due to the prevalence. Most people who have been fully jabbed are at negligible risk from Covid
ps another crazy rule is that operations are delayed until 30 days post positive test…this is crazy, especially with such a backlog. You can imagine the costs involved in the number of cancelled ops. Let’s just shovel more cash into the money pit
I completely agree!!
It won’t kill you but it floored me for 3-4 days and 2 and a half weeks later I’m still coughing and tired. It’s daft to pretend there’s nothing to it when that’s not true. It’s also daft to have 30 days limit when it’s so prevalent if it doesn’t affect recovery from any medical treatment. If it does affect recovery it sounds very sensible
As I say I’m a fit 50 year old with no other conditions, fully vaxed and it floored me
Friend has just come back from lanzarote and all inside activity requires a mask. Removing all restrictions and mitigations seems so foolhardy especially given my experience of itFair point about impact on post op recovery. I think it’s general guidance from BMI about 30 day delay but agree
You may well be
It’s the same in here. A lot of the British people on my flight instantly removed their masks once off the plane and inside the airport though.Friend has just come back from lanzarote and all inside activity requires a mask. You don’t think not testing and walking around and expelling viral load by coughing (assuming you are covid positive) is putting someone at risk of catching the virus??? Or am I misunderstanding your point?Sorry that's just rubbish.
Bizarrely he had no issue with me going there while my GF was positive as long as I had no symptoms. You don’t think not testing and walking around and expelling viral load by coughing (assuming you are covid positive) is putting someone at risk of catching the virus??? Or am I misunderstanding your point?

My nephew is going on 6 and seems to have been really badly impacted by it.Has anyone seen any good data on the impact of remote learning? My eldest absolutely loved it and learned far more in a quiet environment than a classroom she says, my youngest really missed the socialisation as she doesn’t have a mobile and WhatsApp to stay in touch and is far less capable of self guided learning.
Would be really interested to see some data split by age group as to the actual impact, seems to be a lot of gnashing of teeth about kids being fucked up but not a lot of light on the subject short of questionable self reported mental health surveys.
Is that all your bloody bothered about? Death? Ffs there are some gradients of poorliness that are good to avoid short of death surelyIt isn’t. There are hardly any icu beds now taken up with the disease - vaccinated people are very unlikely to be at risk to life now
FfsCatching tbe virus that now virtually doesn’t kill anyone?
Thought the government had stats about the number of months pupils are behind with maths and English. Its different depending on socio economic class which is probably why your daughter excelledHas anyone seen any good data on the impact of remote learning? So are youu suggesting we test everyday in case we do have it and have the potential to give someone a cough. Is that all your bloody bothered about? Death? Ffs there are some gradients of poorliness that are good to avoid short of death surely

I have thought it'd be different for every individual.Has anyone seen any good data on the impact of remote learning? Yes we should isolate as we do when we have both of those, the advantage with covid is we have a simple test if we have symptoms. What’s the problem with that?So we should do what with illnesses such as the NORA virus or severe inluenza? The same?
