She’s now reverting back to saying she’s a conservative because children at her school were left behind. Small point. The Conservatives were in power for the entirety of her school education.
I can think of someone else who told that lie
In your world Otis, no one could ever come close to Ed Davey.Liz Truss is a repetitive robot
Truss saying she became a Conservative because her school was shit under the Tories.
Ha. You have picked up on a Grendel quip I see.In your world Otis, no one could ever come close to Ed Davey.

What's Sunak bothered about? He's been doing quite well! Or is it quit while you're ahead?

I'd be down for an in depth interview... although Truss's might get complaints to Ofcom for misrepresentationThey might be doing it for the perceived good of the party. You can’t have daily bashing of other people in cabinet/government and that’s how they’re set up. I’d prefer an Andrew Neill type interview with each of them, giving each of them a fair crack to get their message across
Theyre kind of irrelevant anyway as it’s not as if we can all vote (well, you might as member I guess )
Genuinely do not get at all where Labour is going with this nonsense? Imagine doubling down on such a dangerous myth (spending must be funded by tax) which will ultimately be a dead end street come the election

They think they've found an 'in' with middle Englanders in appearing more financially responsible. Though I don't entirely blame them when so many people still believe George Osborne's lie over Labour causing the GFC
I think it’s two things. One Labour’s biggest weakness with voters is still the idea they’ll spend too much. Two, it’s stoking the fires of the blue on blue fighting about tax cuts.
I get the want to rewrite the economic argument, but it’s nigh on impossible and at least getting people to see tax cuts as spending like they do direct government spending is a start.
Do you think it's the correct time to do that?
The message it sends to the public is: "Sorry, we can't do much about your abysmal public services nor can we do anything about the level of tax you pay as it all needs to be funded you know."
Sums it up quite nicely
Honestly? I don’t think Labour gets elected on spending promises it’s first term.
it might actually have to show some plans at some point - I’ve not seen one senior labour politician say they will reverse the NI hike as an example. They all oppose it but will all take it
