Truss saying she became a Conservative because her school was shit under the Tories.

Where would Kemi's vote go tomorrow when she's only 15
behind Truss.
If her followers are of the same ilk I wouldn't expect it.
Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine.

Genuinely do not get at all where Labour is going with this nonsense? Imagine doubling down on such a dangerous myth (spending must be funded by tax) which will ultimately be a dead end street come the election

What's Sunak bothered about? He's been doing quite well! Or is it quit while you're ahead?

Probably just can't be bothered - its down to 4 and he's in the last 2 whatever happens

They might be doing it for the perceived good of the party. You can’t have daily bashing of other people in cabinet/government and that’s how they’re set up. I’d prefer an Andrew Neill type interview with each of them, giving each of them a fair crack to get their message across

Theyre kind of irrelevant anyway as it’s not as if we can all vote (well, you might as member I guess 😊)

I'd be down for an in depth interview... although Truss's might get complaints to Ofcom for misrepresentation

They think they've found an 'in' with middle Englanders in appearing more financially responsible. Though I don't entirely blame them when so many people still believe George Osborne's lie over Labour causing the GFC

I think it’s two things. One Labour’s biggest weakness with voters is still the idea they’ll spend too much. Two, it’s stoking the fires of the blue on blue fighting about tax cuts.

I get the want to rewrite the economic argument, but it’s nigh on impossible and at least getting people to see tax cuts as spending like they do direct government spending is a start.

Do you think it's the correct time to do that?

The message it sends to the public is: "Sorry, we can't do much about your abysmal public services nor can we do anything about the level of tax you pay as it all needs to be funded you know."

Hope we're building lots of houses as its seems the younger generation have realised the only reason they were struggling to get on their housing ladder was their Netflix subscription

Honestly? I don’t think Labour gets elected on spending promises it’s first term.

Sums it up quite nicely

It’s doing Truss no favours whatsoever, she’s polling bottom for performance in pretty much every demographic you care to split the polling into. Sunak doesn’t need to bother. Mordaunt doesn’t seem to be able to get a word in and neither does Tugenhat.

it might actually have to show some plans at some point - I’ve not seen one senior labour politician say they will reverse the NI hike as an example. They all oppose it but will all take it

Yeah of course they will, but like the school catch-up policy and the fuel bill policy it’ll be funded in the “raise taxes to pay for stuff” model, not Fernando’s MMT mode.
