Praying it's a damaged meniscus injury then. Even the worst of these (Grade 3) would mean 6-8 weeks out

Not been mentioned but could it be his Achilles they snap like an elastic band, he was holding the back of his calf, still a long job though if it is.

Short term yes as Ohare would be back within 8 weeks
Long term potentially more issues than an ACL
I have had 3 meniscus tears / operations and there is nothing more than can be done except wait until I’m older for a replacement
There is no blood supply to the cartilage area around the meniscus meaning once it goes it goes
Sounds bizarre and of course I’m no medical expert but just making an observation

Yeah I completely agree its odd that he doesnt collapse pretty immediately! Also weird that he goes for the back of his knee but the ACL is pretty deep and not really back or front.
Fingers crossed anyway...

Looks like some Rats have taken to living under our shed. Really hate rats, probably my only irrational fear! Moved to our new house last March and the existing shed is a bit of a wreck needs ripping down and starting again. Should have done it when we first got but lockdown screwed those...

Just watched it. Hilarious! Some great vids of crows showing just how intelligent they are. Plenty ravens round here - would be cool to have a pet one. Big birds.Have you seen the video of a seagull nicking crisps from Tesco? Crows are far more intelligent, so the rewards of keeping a well trained one are practically endless.
Regarding the owl, I was shagging french bird that didnt like owls, so she made me trade him in. Bad, bad mistake. Going through a custody battle, but because of Brexit it's rather difficult

Gutted for him and us. Lost out on a potential move in the summer due to injury and now this. Treatment is good these days but who knows if he'll come back the player he was.
Can't imagine we're doing anything radically different to other clubs in training that would be causing this type of injury. The only possibility is fatigue, are players being rushed back from injury and / or played when they aren't 100% fit. That would probably be more muscular injuries and not sure ACL would come under that classification
Guess at least the medical staff must be experts in how to recover from ACLs and there's players he can talk to about the mental side of things

Almost certainly!
No proven link in the literature but it will definitely have had an effect (dont know if its the same leg though?).
Your ACL primarily prevents what's called anterior tibial translation (shin bone siding forward where it articulates with the femur). Your hamstrings effectively do the same thing and making them really strong is a big part of the rehab.

The danger with the rehab from any major injury is the potential for imbalances between the muscle groups. So whilst the initial injury is dealt with there are possible problems with the ancillary muscles, due to losing condition or alternatively being a lot stronger than those in the same area. Hence, potentially putting too much strain on other areas.
Fortunately, the sports science and medical teams are aware of these potential issues and will ensure protocols to address this.

Jodi did 3 in a row though, basically cut off 3 years of his career, and he relied on his pace. O'Hare different kind of player. He has been kicked around since he joined us and until this season was rarely injured, so naturally more robust. I think (and hope) he will come back the same player and be playing by September.

Huge blow for us. He is absolutely key to how we play. Palmer is a reasonable replacement, but tbf we will need someone else besides. I fear we will lose Gyokeres in January so I hope Mr King has a fat cheque book at the ready and we have identified a couple of good players. Playoff ambitions look very tough at this point although the league is wide open apart from the top 2.
I know I'm a pessimist as far as City are concerned, but ........
1. I don't believe Mr King will be in a position to influence January purchases (either because the EFL won't have approved him or because he'll have done a runner).
2. If Vik goes then we're looking at trying to stay out of the bottom 3 rather than getting in the top 6.
