It's good business to leave your small squad even smaller. I'm going to go and sell the copper piping out of my house tomorrow, it's good business with copper pricing as it is. I'll sort it all out after next week's cold snap
It's a double edged sword.
Of course letting them Waghorn leave today (Kane's replacement was already in before he left) leaves us short up front tomorrow, but it is one match which frankly we'd all be happy to get anything out of. Plus Waghorn would've most likely been on the bench and hasn't exactly been a game changer when we have used him.
On the other hand we bring in his replacement before letting him leave, but during that time the other team decide to sign a different player instead. Or Waghorn gets injured in training. So then we have both him and his replacement taking a hefty wage for the rest of the season which could cause all sorts of financial problems.
If someone was willing to take him on a deal that suited us then let him go before they change their minds.
Of course if we go another two weeks and we've got no further reinforcements I'll be getting a bit annoyed but as long as we get those couple of players in the door during the window that's fine by me.
