Leeds is a move I could understand him making tbh, even if they do come down

Big football club, fantastic place to live and he’d undoubtedly double his wage - I just hope we get a bit more north of £12m, if he goes I want him to break Robbie Keane’s record at least

Football Insider have linked him with about every bottom half Premier League side in the past 12 months but thought I’d throw this in

I'm convinced he's off in the summer so not too fussed where he ends up.
Real bonus that we've kept him for the remainer of this season

Yeah, saw this. All these transfer rumours make sense. He’s almost certainly off. Unless we go up ourselves of course…which is pretty unlikely. Right?

That he hasn't signed a new contract tells me he is definitely leaving in the summer. A deal has probably already be agreed with a club.

If we had offered him 20k with a sell on clause when Doug arrived he would have lost 1\2 million by the summer in wages. If a deal has been agreed it makes no sense to offer him a new contract. Save that 1\2 million for the rebuild.

We'd be able to negotiate that back easily with a player on a long term deal and likely he'd have signed it with a release clause set higher than we'd get with only a year left.
